Ghana’s Amateur Boxing Team Leaves For Training Tour In Australia

An 18-man Amateur Boxing Contingent comprising 6 Officials and 12 Boxers leaves Accra today, Thursday, 26th August for a joint training exercise with their Australian counterparts on the invitation of the Western Australia Amateur Boxing Federation.
The team is being sponsored by Mr. Dave Harper, the Chief Executive Officer of Geodrill Ghana Limited and Chairman of the sponsorship committee of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation as well as other Australian Mining companies in Ghana.
The joint training exercise initiated by the President of GABF, Mr. Ray Quarcoo, forms part of the Federation’s preparations towards the 2010 India Commonwealth Games.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Ghana’s contingent is scheduled to depart Australia on Monday, 6th September, 2010 after the training tour and arrive back home on Wednesday, 8th September, 2010.
The Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation seizes this opportunity to thank the Sports Ministry and the Sports Council for facilitating Ghana’s participation in this training tour.
