Alfred Tetteh, Kojo Issah retain WBO titles

Ghanaian duo Alfred Tetteh and Kojo Issah made successful defences to their respective WBO Africa titles in Kumasi last week, Sarfo Tyson and Theophilus Tetteh also clinching crucial victories to keep hold of their own WBO Africa titles as well, ALL SPORTS can report.

Alfred Tetteh popularly called Stinging Bee’s jabs were too hurting for Beninois opponent Jean Akpaki as the Ghanaian prevailed via a 4th round TKO to retain his WBO Africa Bantamweight belt on the ‘Rumble in Oseikrom 2’ bill put together by Union Sports Promotions at the Baba Yara Stadium on October 23.

Pride of Oseikrom Kojo Issah also kept his WBO Africa Middleweight belt courtesy a 4th round TKO after the opponent Anicet Amoussou was disqualified by referee Dan Nunoo-Mensah for persistent low blows after several warnings and point deductions.

Sarfo Tyson also secured a 3rd round TKO against Koffie Jean Gbodja of Benin to retain his WBO Africa Interim Lightweight crown whilst Theophilus Tetteh won the WBO Africa Interim Light Middleweight title courtesy a round 4 TKO over another Beninois Franck Hounvoegbe.

In other fights, Joshua Barnor earned a 7th round TKO win over Kamarudeen Boyefio in Bantamweight contest, Richard Amenfu won a Super Featherweight clash against Ben Tutu via a round 4 TKO with Samuel Turkson also beat Sampson Kinkani courtesy a 2nd round TKO to win their Lightweight clash.
