Agbeko dismisses comments against Clottey's loss

Accra, June 16, GNA - IBF Bantamweight champion, Joseph Agbeko has dissociated himself from reports linking him to derogatory comments said to have been made against Joshua Clottey's loss to Miguel Cotto last Saturday.

A comment was posted by one "Joseph Agbeko Kingkong" on a popular Ghanaian news portal, www.ghanaweb.com, which admonished Clottey for the loss.

Ebenezer Noye, Media Manager for Agbeko told GNA Sports that the IBF champion has dissociated himself from the above comment against his fellow Ghanaian boxer.

"As Managers of Joseph Agbeko, we dissociate our boxer from that mischievous, disgraceful and divisive comment which carried his name. "We state categorically that Agbeko did not and will not post such a comment."

Noye added that Agbeko and Clottey are good friends and described such comments as attempts by some persons to bring division and bad blood amongst them.

The Media Manager added that Agbeko is concentrating on his title defence against Armenian Vic Darchinyan which is scheduled for July 11 in Florida, United States of America.
