Adamu back in action Dec 28

GHANA’S Charles Adamu, the African Boxing Union (ABU) super middleweight contender, has been crusading in town, looking for suitable opponents for a showdown, but has had very little action in his professional career.
The few who have faced his challenge have suffered for their bravery, almost always failing to go the distance, giving him six knockouts out of seven victories in as many fights.

His opponents, though very few, have come from across the African continent, which he says has advertised his prowess greatly, thereby scaring prospective opponents away.

The last time he was paired against the experienced Prince Mama, the older boxer pulled out at the last minute with virtually no reasonable excuse, having already succeeded in getting a postponement following what he had described as an injury at training.

But young and determine to achieve greater laurels in his career, Adamu ‘the crusader’ remains unperturbed and continues to throw the challenge to 'men' worth their tag. Come December 28, at the Globe Cinema, the dynamism of Arthur Don International Promotions in conjunction with NTHC 'Stockbrokers, asset managers, underwriters, etc' and the technical support of TV3, will provide him his heart's desire as he obliges another established puncher for a big showdown.
Zacharie Mulamba of Congo D.R. is the fighter in line for the hungry Ghanaian who says he cannot wait any longer to attain fame in his chosen profession.Dubbed ‘Eye On The Price’, the fight has both pugilists’ sights fixed religiously on the ABU super middleweight title, aiming to outdo each other to pave way for a date with the title holder.
Ranked fifth and sixth to the title respectively, both Adamu and Mulamba have chalked some big successes in the punch business, earning substantial respect from their peers.
The Congolese, though, remains the more experienced, having had 17 fights already in the paid ranks, winning 16 (seven by way of knockout) and succumbing to only one opponent.Ambitious as ever, Mulamba is seeking to add Adamu to his chain of victims, promising to discipline him and cut him to size.
But the talk and desires can only be confined to those realms, and it is only the ring and the happenings in it on December 28 can decide the fate of the two. The bill also contains some five other explosive bouts, featuring champions and potential world beaters of class. Bantamweight contender, Alex 'Ali' Baba takes on Senegal's Pape Diouf while Samuel Turkson fights Robert Nettey in a super featherweight contest.
Super bantamweights Alfred Tetteh and Theophilus Quaye have a go at each other, while Benin's Victor Kpadonou and Cote d' Ivoire's Traore Dramane meet in a welter weight contest of 'foreigners' with Ali Alabi and Alfred Odai meeting in a featherweight fight. Rates for the fight are ringside - ?50,000; second ringside- ?30,000 and popular stand - ?20,000.
