AZUMAH'S YEAR OLD SON ESCAPES DEATH

A one year old son of the boxing legend , Barimah 'Professor Azumah Nelson , last Monday miraculously escaped death when he fell into a seven foot swimming pool in the father's residence at New Achimota in Accra.

The boy, Dalvin Glory Haruna Nelson, who is only two-feet tall, was said to have been in the pool for approximately 30 minutes before he was spotted by a security man on duty in the house.

A source close to Azumah's house said little Dalvin was playing with an elder brother on the corridor at about 5pm while the mother was busy in the kitchen. Nobody knew how Dalvin alone moved to the swimming pool area .

A security man , who was doing his normal rounds, spotted an object splashing against the walls of the swimming pool. He thought it was one of the giant tortoise in the house.

But on closer look, the security man realised that it was little Dalvin who was floating up and down in the water and he quickly rescued him . To the surprise of the family, the boy did not appear to be hurt in any way. He did not forcibly drink any quantity of water in the pool , yet he was visibly tired and weak. When Dalvin was taken through a series of first aid drills, he vomited some food particles which he ate earlier in the day but there was nothing to show that he had drunk excess water.

Not too long after , little Dalvin fell into a deep sleep. The Nelson family became uneasy and therefore decided to rush him to Lake Side Clinic at North Kaneshie in Accra.

After examining him, the medical officer in charge was himself surprised that a tiny boy such as Dalvin , could be in water so long a time and yet could be so strong and hearty.

In a chat with Mrs. Peggy Nelson ,wife of the 'Professor ' all she could say was: ' It was a miracle. Praise to the Lord God Almighty.'
