Hon. Adu, CEO of AWET Hotel and group of companies has revealed a commitment to sports by hosting Filipino boxer, Ronald Pontillas and his team to a lunch barely minutes after their arrival in the country for Friday’s show-stopping fight in Accra against Emmanuel Tagoe.

23 year old Pontillas (15-5-3, 7 KOs) faces the highly rated Tagoe (20-1, 8 KOs) in a clash for the WBA International and WBO Africa Junior Lightweight titles on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Whilst in Accra till he departs at the weekend, the Filipino boxer is lodging at Hon. Adu’s AWET Hotel located off the Oxford Street, Osu in the heart of Accra and the former Member of Parliament for Okare, Akuapem wasted no time at all in exuding his own interpretation of the renowned Ghanaian hospitality.

“I’ve supported sports since time immemorial so as he chose to come and lodge here, I decided to welcome them as a show of Ghanaian hospitality by hosting them a lunch. AWET Hotel is committed to help build the hospitality industry so we have to show it,” Hon. Adu told www.sportsinghana.com just after the sumptuos meal.

He added: “I support anything which promotes the image of Ghana. Once a politician, always a politician even though I’m now in the hospitality business. We have to build the nation.”

Pontillas, his manager Bricko Santing and trainer Samson Amongo expressed appreciation for the kind gesture of AWET Hotel and hoped they will one day get the opportunity to also host Hon. Adu in Phillipines.
