That is corrections or rebuke, and both do work base on personality traits of persons. Criticism are not so bad as some people perceive, that is how we mould ourselves. The book of corinthians or Romans, apostle Paul said, we should sometimes pay attention to what people are saying about us. They might be pointing out truth about us. Discrding everything or ignoring all is also could be a problem. If you see the connection, do something about yourself, else discard. This is why we are mortals, meaning fallible.
