Air Tanzania has suspended flights to Moscow, Russia effective September 4 following a routine risk assessment.

In a statement dated September 3, the airline said that it conducts these assessments regularly, "and where the outcome supports a pause, we take one. Safety considerations always take precedence over commercial ones."

It added, "We continue to monitoring conditions in consultation with the relevant authorities and will announce the resumption of services as soon as the assessment supports it."

The airline added that passengers holding tickets on the affected flights would receive a full refund or have the option of rebooking an alternative date or routing at no extra cost.
