Would Ivory Coast have arrested and prosecuted the Mali lawmaker had the target of his insults been a business person or any ordinary Ivorian? Too bad most of Africa's political leaders just happen to be corrupt tyrants. Not only are these corrupt leaders a bunch of tyrants, but also they have thin skins. Presidents should never be treated as deities, for that sort of treatment often leads to corrupt leaders believing that they're special and thus are entitled to special protections, even if those protections go against the laws of the the country that accord all persons the right to criticize any one, including political leaders.
