Aduana Stars in full support of gov’t decision to suspend football

Ghana Premier League side Aduana Stars has backed government decision to suspend football related activities in the country in the wake of coronavirus spread.

The President in an address to the nation on March 15 said all public gatherings including conferences, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies, sporting events, and religious events such as services in churches and mosques have been suspended for the next four weeks.

However, table toppers Aduana Stars has thrown its weight behind government as the nation put up measures in place to combat the virus.

According to spokesperson Evans Oppong ‘Maestro’, his outfit value human life than football and has thrown their support behind the decision to suspend football.

“We are in 100% support of the government’s decision because we all know the dangers involved in dealing with the deadly coronavirus, but we pray and hope the disease will be eradicated so we can enjoy our beautiful football” he told Footballghana.com in an interview.

He adds that, the suspension of football could also help players who have been out of the team due to injuries recover to beef up the squad.

The country has so far recorded 7 cases of coronavirus.
