SpacefonAreeba to sponsor hockey league

The Greater Accra hockey League is scheduled to kick off on August 5 after a delayed start because of financial constraints.

Executives of the regional association have been in a series of discussions with new sponsors, SpacefonAreeba in the last few months and seem to have finally concluded the sponsorship details for the commencement of the league next month.

The league team continued with their pre-season preparations at the national hockey pitch over the weekend.

Trustees recorded another win over rivals CEPS in the most competitive friendly tie.

Benedict Sam and Samuel Tetteh propelled the SSNIT side to a 2-1 win with reigning goal king, Eddie Frempong scored CEPS? only goal.

The two teams are bracing up to represent the nation at the next edition of the African clubs championship.

In other matches, Exchequers beat Golden Sticks 2-1 while Koforidua thumped NDK 3-1.
