Appiah is a mixed bag of confusion Asamoah Gyan was wasting all the scoring chances but the coaches kept on giving him chance to play. If a young striker fails to shine in one match why is he not given another chance but Appiah dumps him and brings on Asamoah

Gyan is a facilitator Gyan has not shown for his club. This is true. But Gyan bring something to an attack. Gyan's attacking presence, his movement allows his teammates opportunities to score. Gyan is similar in this respect to someone like Giroud

Bottom line.. He has been forced to bring old names who can come off the bench just in things are shaky. If the team is not winning at the half he will make some wholesale changes and bring in Gyan and others.
