In their time, football was not as lucrative as it is now. Besides, agents were always ripping of their clients then the parent clubs too. It's not fair on your part to say so.

Don't be silly. Footballers were not paid millions during their days.

At their time there were no millions to make . I met Peter Lamptey almost a pauper and tears welled my eyes, looking at the once dreaded "goal thief".

It is good to discuss matters affecting our retired football players. At times, we should call a spade a spade and stop dancing around something that makes no sense.
Our football payers should be told in plain terms to invest their monies and stop messing around with women/girls etc. It is understandably that our old players did not make much like todays players but with proper thinking and investment, they would be reaping some profit.
Ghana has a lot to take care off than these old players who used their hard earn monies on women and girls.

What did they go to do except to go look for SMS handouts; poor Ghanaian soccer stars. After dazzling for clubs and country, they still live on handouts from benevolent hands to survive. Is Ghana worth dying for?

Look at our old players who played for the love of the nation. ,? Their names have vanished from the books. Broke and have nothing to show for. I don't blame this young ones. Soccer is their profession and should think of money first .just like we quit one job for another if the money is better.

Mr. Vice. I remember the 1978 cup of nations final which I watched in your fathers house.but interesting thing was that, you did not watch with us because you were a kid who didn't know anything about football.

Are you serious? The vice president was too young to understand soccer in 1978, how old is he now? I bet he was at least 13 years that year.

If you were in Ghana then you would know these two greats did not mess around with girls, drink or squander their money. In fact, they were very philanthropic :giving to charity, fellow footballers, building mosques, you name it. I know the visit was not for their personal benefit, but for the old players in general who were promised the Skies by successive governments which never materialized. Give them a break.

Wow ...!!! See the true stars of Ghana soccer and remember the nostalgic days of Ghana football - Bayie Opoku Afriyie, Disco Face Isaac Acquaye, Awuley Quaye, PSK Paha, Justice Moore, Ofei Ansah, Addai Kyenkyehene, Silky Adolf Armah, Keepers Joe Carr, Fuseini Salifu, Chesco Abdulai, George Alhassan, Emmanuel Quarshie, Yusif Salifu, Nketia Yawson, Thunder Anas Seidu, Willie Klutse, Dan Kayede, ... etc, etc., and of course the Golden Boy Abdul Razak, and Dribbling Magician Mohammed Polo. Those days when Ghana reigned supreme and we had a proper national team with physically strong, patriotic, wonderful, and skilled superstars, as well as a CORRUPT-FREE GFA. Football administration wasn't full of these greedy babies with sharp teeth who think of themselves first before the players. These current crop of bulls#!+ talentless players wouldn't be worthy to shine the boots or wash the jerseys of the Golden Black Stars. Let we the oldies ask ourselves, which of these current "Black Stars" players would have been fit, able and capable of standing in any of those Golden Black Stars shoes??? Indeed, Ghana soccer will never be the same again.

No disrespect, but forgot to mention our inspiring Rock and Kotoko Captain KUUKU Dadzie, as well as Kuntu Blankson. Any other Golden Black Star? Yesss... the coach was Osam Duodu, a Ghanaian.
