What kind of nonsense is this? It is not GFA responsibility. The guy went to Sweden on his own, married a Swedish and had a private problem with his spouse.
His profession as a footballer does not bestow on him any special favours. The Ministry of Sports has nothing to do with this. The guy went through the Sweden legal system and was convicted. He can appeal his case.
This guy was not on any governments assignment for the Ministry of Sports to do anything. There are many Ghanaians in prisons in different countries across the globe, what about them, nonsense.

This issue of someone being arrested and others going there to show solidarity is a misuse of the various freedoms we profess.
Does Listowell know whether the player is guilty or innocent? Even if he is innocent, Sweden is a sovereign state that has its laws. It is one's duty to abide by those laws if you travel there. If that avenue Listowell is claiming was available to travelers, then our court could not be trying Chinese in Ghana. What would Listowell say if he had been arrested for possessing cocaine? In his position, he should know the core responsibilities of the sports ministry.
Prison is for humans but not for those who do not have support or backing. Let's learn to let laws work and stop those solidarity solidarity stuff! Aaba!

Why should the government step in on his behalf. He has to face the consequence of the law. Would the government step in for any Ghanaian who is hailed in a foreign land? When Mr. Ebenezer Amoateng, the former MP for Nkoranzah was jailed for drug trafficking, did the government stepped in? No!! You are on your own when gripped by the law. This is not Ghana where the law is a "respector" of persons.

Listowell Yesu Bukarson is naive to think that GFA can exert some influence on the courts in Sweden. While it is unthinkable in Ghana that a husband can be found guilty of raping his wife, the footballer was indeed found guilty of exactly that. All the jailed footballer can do now is to appeal the court's verdict with exculpatory evidence that will exonerate him. Absent that, he will remain in jail to serve the rest of his sentence no public campaign by GFA will save him.
