GAG made a big mistake by appointing an Accra based referee teaching at Saint Aquinas High school and masquerading as a Referee to officiate this match. This Referee in all probability is an Acra Hearts of Oak supporter.

GAG made a big mistake by appointing an Accra based referee teaching at Saint Aquinas High school and masquerading as a Referee to officiate this match. This Referee in all probability is an Acra Hearts of Oak supporter.

Hearts will not accept a Kumasi based Referee to officiate a match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak for a match between the two teams in a match being played in Kumasi.

Sammy, you better be real with referee Sukah's decision. We're all die hard supporters. You're with Kotoko, I'm with Hearts and we all want our teams to win so I understand your pain but I doubt this referee took that decision because he was a Phobian. This is a call that could've gone the other way and Phobians would've cried foul too. It was a 50 - 50 decision and based on where the referee was positioned vis a vis how he saw it determined his decision. Even a robot in the center of affairs wouldn't have given any accurate answer. If you look at the replay, the first 2 show no contact but the 3rd one showed contact with the ball. Besides, the videos were not very clear and the angles recorded were not enough. This is a decision which could've only been solved by a video replay. Unfortunately, FIFA frowns on that. The referee did his best and I don't think his possible love for Hearts influenced his performance. He will not be disciplined for this call, unless whichever panel that sits on this case is filled with Kotoko faithful's. Let's all be genuine about this decision if we really want Ghana football to prosper. We need to punish referees for taking dubious decisions and bare with them in dicey situations such as this. They're normal human beings so they make mistakes too. The British called on FIFA to punish the referee at the center of affairs in the Maradonna's hand of God's goal but they never did because it's one thing seeing it so glaringly by a slow motion replay and it another thing seeing when it first happened.

If it is unclear and 50/50 wave it off. That's what a good referee should have done. Inconclusiveness must not benefit one side. That's my two cents.

I thought he confirmed that it was a penalty by the rules of the game. Why then do you have to set up a panel to quiz him? I think you should watch a slow motion video clip to ascertain whether he was right on or not.

This is a primitive, extinct style we used to play at colts level in the sixties! When you throw yourself down like that how do you control where the ball hits you? The referee has iterated that he has no doubts at all about his decision because he was near the action. The Referee's Association and the GFA better be very careful.
