  "The name did pop up" means "I heard his name as a possible player to be signed (or to be considered)".
  
  That does not mean "I've never heard of him", unless you can show me where he explicitly said so.

  I just don't understand how most of our 30 To 34 years old players can't survive in the game.Most of them fade out from age 29. Steve Appiah, Michael Essien, Asamoah Gyan (always getting injured these days as soon as he hit 30)and his brother B Gyan, Laryea Kingston etc... compared to Drogba 38 not retired, Lampard 38 just retired, Steve Gerald 35, just retired by choice. Something is fishy with our players.
  Even if he is old, South Africa paaa, how! from Chelsea to Real Madrid to ???????? why is he broke or something ??? If he just wants to play he should come to Liberty Professionals!!
