You hit the nail on the head Odikro Mununkum. There are no longer quality players in both the local league and the international front. Look at the USA or Europe for instance. Most if not all of their professional sportsmen and women are college graduates. That means they're of a sound mind and not technically bankrupt. Besides their higher education that puts them streets ahead of most Ghanaians in professional sports in both mental and technical proficiency they are also at a greater advantage over our sportsmen and women in physical fitness, speed and stamina. The era is past when the possession of skills alone was sufficient to win tournaments and championships. I'm of the opinion that the nation should embark on an ambitious 10-20 year football/sports development program that will make it mandatory for all sportsmen and women to stay in school till they've graduated from college. A few exceptions can be made but it must have the approval of the sports authority. We have to streamline the process of becoming professional athletes.

I remember not long ago when party affiliations were put on ice during matches. When the team scored every street in the entire country was flooded with everybody from child to the very weak in society. Do we see that now? While half of the citizens are willing the team on the other half are praying otherwise. In shot, the Black Stars woes are down to the ill-will of certain Ghanaians. Period.
