In retrospect maybe he should have just kicked the ball away but that was an emergent sequence where he had to act fast.

You see, in anything that happens in a match you can take many steps backward and find someone to blame. It is not unusual for a bad clearance to lead to a goal. However, there are usually many steps that took place BEFORE the bad clearance. In fact, one can even go back to the attack before Egypt gained possession and critique that. I can be a never ending analysis. One play does not make a match.

Evean at 2015 AFCON where was Kwesi Appiah coming from? I think even the third division in England. Look at his contribution.
You see, there comes a time where you have to put someone out there and let them rise to the occasion. Sunday was that moment and Grant failed to use it. Simple as that. For that he should be fired. In the end what happened? A 2-0 defeat. I think on "fresh legs" alone if Assifuah and Tetteh were out there in the end we would have drawn that match 1-1.

To me that is an indication that he is scared to take risks. To coach this particular team you have to be a risk taker because this team does not have any bona fide superstars. They are a bunch of role players.

Stephen Appiah can be an assistant. He cannot be ruled out easily, even though he doesn't have things on paper, he has enormous experience with the team, as far as talking and getting players to bring their A game to win matches. Once there, he can go on to take courses to get things on paper and to sharpen his expertise. On the other hand, if we we can afford a foreigner it has to be just that Herve Renard, like Pito said. And Tanko can be an assistant. Renard is really good, and he has been wanting to coach in a long time, so he could be very generous in his pay, so we cut back to fix the crumbling Accra and Kumasi stadium. And that should be a big priority as well.

Talent in the team is at an all-time low because we love to reap what and where we have not sowed. While other nations peep into the future and strategically make huge investments today we count on raw talent and happenstance to win us medals and trophies. We are just a bunch of jokers when you compare what we're not doing but expect high dividends at the highest level to what others are doing and getting the desired results. The quality of our players of today is nowhere near what we used to produce when other nations paid less attention to the game or when the game was less attractive to them. The hard truth is not only have many nations who were minnows in the sport caught up with us but have actually overtaken us because we took things for granted and slept on the steering wheel. Back in the day we used to wallop Nigeria 7-0 but can we do that now? No! We're only reaping what we sowed over the years. It's time to get to the drawing board and plan strategically for the immediate and distant future if we want to reap bountifully. Talking about it is good but it takes more than talking to achieve honor.
