Doctors in hospitals in the country are supposed to conduct mortality meetings. At such weekly meetings mortalities(deaths) of patients are discussed and health personnel questioned. Reports indicate that less than 10 hospitals in the country have been conducting such meetings.
Sources say hospitals like KATH have not done that for the past 16 years
The MOH has chalked successes but its ineptitude in this regard is totally mind boggling.

NIi Lante is against that too. What are you talking about? He and his advisers have stated they don't care iifthe Black Stars don't qualify for the W.C, period. In Nii Lante's era, anything pro-Black Stars is wrong.

J.J. i think it will be better for the technical team to bring their wi-fi enable phones to the ministry of sports corridors and tap on to the ministry`s wi-fi to watch a 4 minute goals of their opponents on You-tube
that will save more cash than buying a video cassette/DVD...and you want to celebrate a nations cup by Ghana Black stars?
But i see this as the future of the technical handlers while Mr Vanderpuye is at post.

With cash not being made available to enable players travel to attend the call for national duties how on earth do you expect a member of the technical team to be financed on a spying mission? The loud - mouthed and self - centred Minister of Sports will have a little understanding of the importance of such a venture. In truth if the status quo or attitude at the Sports Ministry remains unchanged then Ghana is going to have an extremely hard time qualifying.

The Ministry has to stick to its guns to force change and progress at the GFA and across all sports in Ghana. Obviously whatever has been going on has not worked despite vast sums of money being spent. 32 years without success? No olympic medals or even qualifying past the first round for 4 Olympic cycles. So it's time to really face upto it and implement changes to get results. That's what you would do if it was a business. Right? Or you would carry on sinking money in something, money the nation can't afford to waste, just so a few people could benefit or to avoid personal attacks? No the Minister is being very brave in trying to steer this to justice on behalf of football fans, sports fans and the nation. The fact is youdon't need to send someone to go watch a game to the tune of $30 or $40,000. Even if it costs $1000!!! You get a video and you analyze it. That's what every one sensible would do. This habit of sending scouts was basically an excuse for someone to get a favour, a lovely away game weekend somewhere foreign. It can't go on! The management has to change, expectations have to change and results have to change.

The prob;em is Mahama thinks from now to election is too short to bring in a new person ..and they dont even know what will happen after the elections so its better to keep Mr Vanderpuye to Vandalise everything,if they win He will change him if they lose he will be changed so for now Black stars will have to bear it with This Frankenstein of a minister until its too late to qualify for the world cup

This GFA is grossly incompetent. In addition to this negligence to spy on Egypt and several other shows of incompetence, the GFA was complicit in the Brazil shame or at least they failed to administer well to prevent it. If you are incompetent at your job, you get fired. Yet the GFA remain in office feeling untouchable and protected by FIFA rules of 'governmental non-interference'. FIFA does not own or govern Ghana, it’s the government. Besides, its the government that funds football administration in Ghana, not FIFA – and he who pays the piper should call the tune. To fix Ghana football, Ghana needs to withdraw from FIFA its events, then dissolve the GFA and the Black Stars. The government can then reconstitute football administration in the country, making the GFA clearly subordinate and answerable to sports ministry. After that Ghana could rejoin FIFA. If FIFA wouldn't readmit, so be it -- we could do without participating in international soccer for a long time as recent poor attendance to Stars matches demonstrate. This is a drastic approach, but it appears to be the practical course of action to redevelop football in Ghana.

It is drastic but it sends the right message to FIFA and to others. You cannot continue to pilfer millions of dollars, not deliver and hold the country hostage. As much as the nation loves its football, it also has serious needs which should be addressed. if the populace knew the facts they would support the government wholeheartedly in challenging the corruption and the pilfering to the tune of millinons over the last 30 odd years, with no results to show for it. TGFA and all sports federations have been hiding behind the non government interference rules but in actual fact it just helps them to do what they like and not be answerable. And yet demand more and more money and bigger budgets. And then that debac le of effectively ransome tacking in Brazil was really a totally gangster move! sO YES THE GOVERNMENT CAN AND SHOULD, UNDER THE GENERAL INITIATIVES TAKEN BY THE PRESENT ADMINISTRATION TO TACKLE CORRUPTION, AND TO DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY AND GOOD GOVERNANCE, APPROACH THE SPORTS SECTOR IN THE SAME WAY AND CLEAN THIS UP. Fifa would actually have to agree because it too has come under the kosh recently for corruption and lack of transparency as we saw in the news so they can hardly play hardball with a government of a soverign nation who is trying to clean up the administration of its national team. There will be short term pain but ultimately LONG TERM GAIN FOR GHANA AND GHANAIANS... AND FOR FOOTBALL ACTUALLY1

YEs all these sports Federations are under the illusion that they are 'UNTOUCHABLE' but they are not. Absolutely not. The Government can write to each and every one of the International fedearations and outline their concerns regarding the way the federations are currently run and that it has come to their attention that the national federations are not acting appropriately. Whilst recognising that there is a rule of non government interference, the government can specify to the international Federations that for the sake of transparency, good governance and accountability not just for sports but for all areas of governmance in the country, this matter needs to be resolved and they look forward to co operation from the international federations! In other words, turn the rules on its head and put the ball back in the court of the International federations that if they don't co operate then they are condoning bad practice, bad management and corruption. END OF! they can't sit on the fence any longer. If you keep sinking millions of dollars in sports budgets and after 30 years you have not a single trophy or medal to show for it then something is wrong at roots of the matter and that needs to be addressed and any good government and responsible transparent government would have an absolute RIGHT to tackle such a pervasive problem. One by one the other African countries would follow through to following the example set by Ghana. GHANA is the BLACK STAR, THE PROGRESSIVE NATION OF AFRICA. TO THIS DAY IT HAS A HIGHER TRANSPARENCY INDICATOR THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY ON THE CONTINENT. AND THAT IS WHY IT MUST STRIVE TO DO THIS. IT WILL GET A LOT OF GOOD PUBLICITY AND ATTENTION AND SHOW THE MORAL FIBRE OF THE COUNTRY JUST AS IT ALWAYS HAS DONE HISTORICALLY. RAISE THE BAR. DON'T LOWER STANDARDS. TIME TO RAISE THE BAR

If only Ghanaians will think objectively, they will see the good intentions of the Sports Minister in trying to rope in the EXCESSIVE corruption in the GFA. Nyantakyi and Co cannot just misuse any revenues the GFA receives without accountability, but then turn around and look to the Ministry of Sports to take care of any expenditure the GFA incurs. People are crying for accountability from the GFA, and if it will take the non-qualification of the Black Stars to the World Cup to draw attention to that, so be it. Nyantakyi's GFA is so riddled with corruption. In 2010, after the World Cup in S. Africa, France's football association was dissolved by their gov't due to the poor performance and indiscipline of their national team. FIFA threatened them and when the gov't didn't budge, FIFA imposed a 2-year ban on France. They didn't care about the ban and rather used the time to reconstitute their FA and the whole French national team. Now we all see the results. They were very impressive in the WC 2014 in Brazil, and also very successful in Euro 2016. It took guts, and the French people understood the long-term benefits in this rebuilding effort. So, to hell with Nyantakyi's GFA, and kudos to the Sports Minister for the gutsy way he is standing up to clean the rot in the GFA. Ghanaians must wholeheartedly support his initiative for the betterment of a future winsome Black Stars.
Finally, we are in the 21st century and it shouldn't take a scout's physical presence to "spy" on the opposition. We have video technology now.
