Predcisely. Not only GFA but all the Federations and the GOC use the rule of non interference to basically give themselves the protection to do whatever the hell they like whilst at the same time demanding and milking the system to take as much money as they can for over inflated budgets for useless 'coaches' who doen't know anything but just wwear the tracksuit! 'Officials' who accompany saquads who are ill prepared and usally edon't know anything and badically the whole thing is just a huge waste of talent, nmoney and resources. the athletes are just an excuse wfor the 'administrators' or 'officials' to take money and travel etc. So the Ministry and the Government is right to say 'what the hell is going on'? If we've invested Xmillion dollars in sports over the last 10 years and we are seeing no imporovement and no results, how are these federations being run and who byu and who for? If you look at them carefully you can see what's going on. If you keep brushing it under the carpet because you don't want to upset anyone, or be unpopular, all that happens is that this rot will continue and the very important that sports can bring to a society, ie unifying, nation building, pride, glory and development for youth, will NEVER be achieved. So yes, they hide under the rule of 'non interference' whilst at the same time they want all the money and support. That can't be right?

They are stashing the money for their campaign. National Destroyers Congress don't care about sports development of the country and that is a shame.

This article is really about nothing. There is one answer to all the questions the writer raises and that is nothing happens. Nothing happens when Ghana doesn't win AFCON or go to the World Cup. Nothing also happens when FIFA bans Ghana. Our country is down in the toilet and we should be concerned about how to salvage it. All the nonsense about our football sums up where we are as country. Here is a country in which everybody in every leadership position isn't held accountable. How can we expect good results? Our problems are real and deeper than the petty politics and short-live emotions we experience during football games that this writer can't see beyond. This article should have addressed how to reform the GFA and policies on football in Ghana.

I have not seen a sports minister appointed by the Government with an alteria motives like Mr Nii Lante Vanderpuye, who came to the sports ministry with a view to disorganizing the GFA and shruck his shoulders to accuse the president of the GFA on none existing problems. The gaping truth is that, we did not realise, the GFA was in a turbulent position as it is today under the present sports minister, who rocked the boat, the very day he set foot to the sports premises ostensibly to sensationalise situations with GFA commencing from his own view, the deplorable conditions of Accra sports Stadium, when some of us suggested how best it could be remedied. It would be candid on his part as the sports minister,to write to assign heads of all the deciplines under his jurrisdiction to submit to him, problems facing them for a round table conference for discussion and a way to address them according to the exigensies of each case.It is not rather good to cause war to happen where there was no need to associate the football descipline with war, since jaw jaw is better than war war.

The GFA waste money, which contributes to lack of money to maintain stadiums. The minister is right for cutting back the expenditure. A better way would have been investigate and prosecute the GFA then reform it. Please, don't defending the GFA.

This article shud be, why GFA shud not go to the government for money if they want to be independent. If you take tax payers money, you have to account for it.

Many people in Ghana don't understand this problem. There are people in Ghana who don't know that the GFA is heavily subsidized by the government without any oversight. It's good you get it Obi.

Politicians are also Ghanaians and can also make suggestions for sports development but they must refrain from imposing their stale ideas on the nation.
The truth is we've no coherent long-term sports development policy and the danger here if we stick to the Minister's demands and get pushed into his myopic dictator's overdrive we risk spreading ourselves thin only to sink in the abyss of the inglorious nonentities.
During this period of painful realization and confrontation none of us is feeling no joy but we must also remember that no painful burden has happened to us without our acceptance.
If we're to make the future better we have to learn what the past is teaching us. Our freedom requires us to make choices based on the needs of the present and the future. Why is President Mahama recklessly and maliciously doling out luxurious cars and other gifts in an election season when the nation has no coherent long-term policy for sports development? Which is of more priority to the nation, sports development or bribing chiefs for election votes? You see, lack of control is not freedom. It's chaos. Conflicting impulses squander energies instead of directing them towards growth and development. As the government comes to recognize the benefits of self control in fiscal spending, they will choose it more often and as successive administrations do this we'll become fully in control of our lives and better able to direct our energies towards what's needful and what we can do.
