We have good players but whether we will qualify or not, will depend on the attitude the players put up. As far as I am concerned, if our players are ambitious and focussed about going to Russia 2018, no team in our group can stop them. However, if they allow littlemindedness such as quareling over bonuses to interfere with their preparations, they will fail. This is why we need a good coach that can productively manage the egos of the players without any rumpus. This is necessary because Avram Grant will be leaving before WC qualifiers.
All the other 3 members of the Group will be uncompromising but the greatest threat will come from Egypt who are on the rise presently. How they have prevented Nigeria from qualifying to AFCON 2017 is a vivid example of their form. The fact that they have not been as successful in qualifying for WC as winning AFCON means that, they will display a lot of hunger to qualify. Nevertheless if Ghana's players show good discipline and ambition under an experienced coach, there is no way they will fail.

Is this really a good way to choose the best teams in Africa for to world cup? I'd prefer winners and runner-ups from each group to play another round of away-home to determine the eventual 5 countries.
This forces teams to show a body of work. The reality is that teams can get lucky in those playoffs. If you play in a group you see the best over time.
Our group is reasonable.
