I think its about time we take into consideration cultural differences. We have to psychoanalyze the person and understand his background and the environment that has influenced his thinking.
The use of certain words are not as offensive in his context as to ours (Ghana/Africa).
So his employers are the once to help bridge that gap through effective communication by advising him on the choice of words.

Moreover he was employed to be the Coach of Ghana Black stars not Ghana premier league.
And his main objective is to WIN games for us. How he does that is his own method. Every manager has his own style of achieving results. We cant dictate to him as to how to go about his job. then its better we go take the job and sack him since we prove to know better than him.
To be very candid, how many of us even follow our premier league now? A league that doesn't start on time, struggle to get sponsorship, poor administration and a whole lot. We can all tell that the Quality is very low. Yet we expect to be complimented.

First, he is hired for his coaching ability and not his language. However, Grant knows better. Although English is not his first language, he has coached in England for a long time and has had to deal with a much more sophisticated media. He could never say this at a press conference in the UK and get away with it. If he said it, it would be headlines and the front office (e.g. Chelsea) would force him to apologize and not just retract his words.

On a separate point, I don't know why the GFA wants Grant to be looking for talent within the Ghana Premier League. There are numerous other scouts from Europe (and South Africa) that look at the league. If they see good talent, they pick them and then develop. Has there EVER been a player that went immediately from the Ghana Premier League to the TOP of a European Top Flight Team right away. They were selected and then developed. I believe Grant is spending time monitoring those prospects. It's not worth his time to be monitoring a Tier 2 league when even if he saw talent, they wouldn't be ready for the Black Stars.

Let me take down memory lane.Westerhof(dutch) the Nigeria coach spent his time in Nigeria monitoring their local league. He was able to unearth players like Amokachi, JJ Okocha, Finidi George and co.He took virtually local players to AFCON 90' and got to the finals; won AFCON 94,' and finally qualified for mundial 94' for the first time.
