The question is,who should step up.Do we have a player who is as good as Dede Ayew? The fact is,Abedi had already started performing wonders before he replaced Adolf Armah. We were therefore not surprised with his performance.

No, Abedi was barely 17 years and had not even played for the Black Stars before that memorable match.Ghana had drawn 2-2 with Zaire in the first leg in Accra and we were in Zaire for the second leg. The winner of the 2-leg tie goes to Libya'82 AFCON.According to Abedi, he was in camp with the secondary school regional team when Coach Osam Dudou and CK Gyamfi showed up to draft him to the national team before the second leg in Kinshasa. Akwasi Appiah was also young and new and played so well and neutralized Zaire's danger man Mayele Ayele in that fateful match, hence earning the nickname MAYELE. Yes, Kwasi Appiah and Abedi were young but stepped up.

Abedi who was actually 16, was playing for RTU and mesmerizing defenders in the league. He was marvelous in the 2 knock-out final matches between RTU and hearts of oak.He had also won the best colts player in 1978.He was even more of a dribbler than Adolf Armah. The first leg between us and Zaire ended 2-2, but some of the senior players(Razak,Francis Kumi and even Adolf) had problems with the handlers. That is why Razak and Kumi were dropped, and Ben Kayede of Auroras(he was the goal king in the reserve division league) and Abedi were asked to report to camp.Adolf faked his injury after we were 1 goal down.Abedi then replaced him and performed wonders that day George Alhassan scored both goals.Today,do we have any player who can replace Dede Ayew?

I don't think we will miss A. Ayew when Acheampong replace him. Andre is not Abedi, Polo or Razak you know.

So forget about me being ungrateful when I suspect a player is faking injury to avoid duty. My point is that this is the chance for the coach to use a player that can thresten Ayew's position to serve a warning to all the players that nobody is indispensable. You said some other nonsense too you know.
