During the Kotoko vs Medeama match at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, an incident occurred within the visitors’ camp which many attendants did not notice.

Medeama coach Tom Strand clashed with his technical staff before half time when the Swedish manager attempted to make a substitution which was prevented by his colleagues.

The coach decided not to monitor the rest of the encounter which was taken care of by the team’s technical director Augustine Adotey.

“I am the technical director and I have every right to take decisions. He decided not to stand at the technical area so I chose myself to take over", Adotey said.

“The reason being that he wanted to effect a substitution and the technical bench was not agreement to that so he decided that Tom hold let’s see the next five ten minutes still he insisted.

"So coming all the way from the dressing room after recess we didn’t see him so I decided to take over.

"When he came, I confronted him and he said he wasn’t happy, he wanted to make a change and we refused him."

The game ended in a 2-2 stalemate – first point for each side in the season so far.
