The local radio stations are privately-owned and they do not have to address everyone in the country. The state-owned media have to do that job. No one can prescribe a language for them.

Ato I would like to remind you the last time I checked English language was a colonial master's language and as such it is a foreign in respective of how you see it, you can agree or disagree with me on this, nonetheless it is a fact.
It is high time Africans in general and Ghanaians in particular stop degrading and relegating their own languages and starts developing and promotes them to become international.
We can look at the Asian countries and see where they are now and where they are going, their developments have a lot to do with their own language they speak.
We can also look at sub-Saharan African countries where the colonial master’s language (English, French, Portuguese, etc.) are holy and worshipped. What we see is confusion and no progress in developments. We think we understand these languages and want to use it as our own, we are deceiving ourselves. With the resources Africa is blessed with people will learn and speak our language if we decide to make it so. People understand and make an inform decision when they use their own language.

It is about time we use our tongue in everything that we do. If you hate to speak Twi or whatever, it is up to you. I speak twi and nothing can stop me from doing that. The owners of those radio stations or whatever should insist that local languages should be spoken and those who cannot stand that should go burn the sea.

We are Ghanaians and should love what is our or about us. The White man sees you as a fool for throwing away what is yours and adopting something foreign.

Plus some of the so called Akan journalist are not Akans; they are from other tribal areas of Ghana (names with held). So Jawula's accusation is hollow and bogus. Stop spreading this tribal bitterness. A more professional and common sense approach to this issue, if it's indeed a reality, would have been to attack sports journalists without that tribal or ethnic connotation. Its a shame, Jawula.

Alhaji is not attacking the Twi Language and twi-speaking Ghanaians. He is concerned about the abuse of the Twi language by sports journalists who present in Twi. It is true that most of these Twi presenters are extremely unprofessional and use the language to insult the FA, especially the FA President. I am a proud Akan but I will be honest about this. Ask these so-called journalists to present in English and we will see how few their words and insults will be. Alhaji Jawula is right. Let's stop hiding behind tribal sentiments and face the truth.
