But that doesn't disqualify him from winning the accolade. Perhaps you will have to bear in mind that your famous dad won the title 3 times. Yet he never played in a CAF Cup Final apart from when the Black Stars won against Libya in 1982 when aged 16 he came on as a substitute before he became an internationally recognised star. Just work hard. You are still young and I believe your time will come soon.

Use lg is very very weak, and caf didn't want to cheapen, undermine themselves and dats why they chose story. Who clearly didn't do well at afcon and caf. U can't play 5afcon games and expect to win caf player of the year. Africa lacks quality materials, players etc. So if u want to win caf award. Play in a quality euro lg and concentrate on scoring goals or playing time consistency, plus trophies. Then add afcon and wcup appearance as extras and u will win afcon award.

Thank you Mr Afiriyie, the CAF voters got it right. The competition is Africa Player of the year not Africa team of the year. Aubameyan in 2015 scored 41 goals and 11 assets for club and country. He has scored 24 goals in 23 matches for Borrusia Dortmund, an average of one goal per match, an achievement none of them is even close.

If Afcon should be the template, then Atsu should win the award since he was voted the Player of the tournament in the last Africa cup of Nations tournament.

A student's duty is to provide his suggested answer; it is the teacher's duty to mark it and award marks as appropriate. In this CAF award, those who select the APOTY are the national coaches and technical directors - these are the most qualified persons for the job. It is not proper to think that, all these officials connived to give the award to someone who does not deserve it.
APOTY is over an entire year - in this case, 2015 and not just about AFCON 2015 which occured in January/February 2015. The football played in the various leagues from March to December 2015 need to be considered as well. Aubameyang is the deserving winner. Dede should have patience; his time will surely come.

Especially Dede cos he did exceptionally well in the Afcon contributed in more goals more than any player.
