Should you really understand what is meant by football in terms of a nation's economy and pride, you will know why countries try make their national team players, football,basket, atheletes etc; happy. Make these guys feel happy,let them go there, play, win and bring wealth and pride to the nation else , desolve the national team so we know that the ghana governement doesnt see the need for a national football team. Personally, I think this is cheap populist gimmicks from a new Sports Minister that will not be implemented? Why footballers earning large sums of money for their clubs need this bonus to play for their country is beyond me. ...

Personally, I think this is cheap populist gimmicks from a new Sports Minister that will not be implemented? Why footballers earning large sums of money for their clubs need this bonus to play for their country is beyond me. However, the GFA has received large sums of money from FIFA for appearing in the last 2 World Cup Tournaments thanks to the efforts of the Black Stars and therefore, good luck to them.
I would take this new Sports Minister more seriously if he would volunteer to accept a sizeable pay cut in his salary and allowances and lead by example. The poor performance of this Government has been very poor but Ministers of State are not volunteering for pay cuts and therefore, why should he expect the Black Stars to agree to a reduction? Lead by example, and others will follow.
