I've mixed feelings about this situation: Patriotism VS. Pay to Play. Should our foreign-based players (who make up about 99% of the Black Stars), who’re well paid abroad, sacrifice a little for the sake of patriotism or be dully paid what they deserve to be paid? There isn’t any good answer to that!!

However, the KEY PROBLEM with the Ghana government—of which the Ministry of Sports is part of—is "the gargantuan amount of the country's entire revenues SPENT of government workers.” Try this on for size: the Ghana government spends a whopping 70—80% of the country’s revenues on salaries, bungalows, utilities, vehicles, travels, bonuses, end of service benefits (ESBs), houseboys, garden boys, drivers, etc., etc., etc., and that's why the Ministry of Sports is dead broke. But note, it's not only the Sports Ministry but all ministries in Ghana. There is too much waste with the government.

How the hell can't we properly account for the revenues from cocoa, oil, gold, diamonds, bauxite, manganese, iron ore, timber, from the Tema & Takoradi ports, foreign LOANS, free foreign aid, etc?

See, the White man is long gone and it's high time that MPs, Judges, Ministers and other government officials PAY their own rent and buy their own cars. The White man used those incentives to get White folks from Europe to work in the then "Dark Continent", but they're long gone—SO SCRAP THAT BULLSHIT FROM THEC BOOKS AND SAVE SOME SERIOUS MONEY for national development. Even in the super rich United States of America, presidents pay income & property taxes and ALL Congressmen/women PAY THEIR OWN RENT in Washington, DC, as well as buy and drive their own cars. Why should poor Ghana offer all these things FREE to government bureaucrats? ??

Remember, Nyantakyi ain't gonna go anywhere. The difference would be channeled into a tunnel built under Nyantakyi's Mansion from Accra through to Wa in that Region to benefit only his family.

HOWEVER, the $5000 should be reasonable enough for the players.

On the other hand, it does not make sense for the tech-crew and some officials to reap the same amount the players take.
Don't the crew members/officials take 'perdiems' free gas, free food, tickets and other fringe benefits?
If players be 'forced' to sacrifice, the other members of the group also be asked to do same. For example,if 'cut economy' is our priority, players who are not selected for match-day games must not take the 5 but a token of the 5 called the WB.(winning Bonus)Same applied to participating officials who only follow the players as 'soccer tourists'

A case in point is how the coach, as well as the president, as selfish as they are, grabs twice as much of the appearance fees. Am not sure about the WB. I believe they do.

How much is KN's salary as head of the joint? Do we care to know? Isn't that a public document.

The GFA must be blamed for the BONUS issue because that is the money they intend paying to the national team. The GFA is not accountable to the state on it's earnings, and that makes it difficult for the Minister to determine the specific amount to be paid as bonus.

It is about time they sacrifice for the good of poor Ghanaians. Yes if their income as a team makes it possible to be paid 10.000 dollar bonuses, take care of the coaches and the additional staff then so be it. If they are supplemented from the the cash strap budget then it is not worth even presenting a team. The rest of the nation, the babies, the pregnant women and the likes all need to be looked after but not at the expense of producing plays who become mega-rich and still would like to milk the national budget. SAD UNFORTUNATELY THAT ALL THE POLITICIANS AND FOOTBALL ADMINISTRATORS ARE ALL CORRUPT AND WE DO NOT KNOW WHO TRUST!
