Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari returned to action in Saudi Arabia for his club Al Ittihad on Saturday after a one-month injury-induced absence.

The former AC Milan was in full time action on Saturday as they defeated 10-man Al Qadasiya 3-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Gelmin Rivas in the Saudi Pro League.

The 31-year-old returned to action for the first time since suffering a knee injury last month during a league match in the Saudi top-flight.

Muntari returned to training week after recovering from that injury he suffered on September 19 in their clash against Al Faisaly.

His return is a massive boost for Al Ittihad who are seeking to win the league and dominate Asia in this season’s competition.

The Ghanaian has now made four appearance in the Saudi League since joining Al Ittihad from AC Milan in July this year.
