The 10th edition of Happy FM Keep Fit Festival featuring various sporting disciplines to compete at El-Wak Sports Stadium has ended successfully exceeding expectations of patrons who marvelled over keep fit clubs in attendance.

The anniversary brought together thousands of sports enthusiasts from more than 90 Keep Fit clubs across the country to compete for trophies and product prizes as well as to network.

The Wave Hunters Keep Fit Club won the highest number of trophies, scooping six in all, including sack race, 1500m men athletics, 100m women athletics.

The e.TV Ghana - Local television station, Rush Energy Drink, Asadu Waste Management Company Limited, Appointed Time Screen Printing sponsored the event.

New entrants like God Babies Keep Fit Club, comprising young boys and girls were not intimidated by their adults and regular participants as they managed to win some trophies and emerging in the third position.

A renowned sports administrator, Mr Vincent Sowah Odotei, said: ‘’Happy Fm continues to prove to everyone that sports is their business by promoting sports through various innovative ways such as this annual Keep Fit Festival.’’

He advised keep fit clubs in the country to see sports as a viable business and also select leaders with integrity to lead them looking at how the sports industry has in recent times been plagued with bribery and corruption.

Communications Manager of Global Media Alliance Broadcast Unit, the mother company of Happy Fm, Ms Naomi Nelson expressed thanks to the clubs for keeping faith over the years in making the event successful.

Ms Nelson assured the clubs of improved organisational process and incentives and pledged participants a better sporting stimulations in future.

Participants also received free medical care from Van Jay Eye Clinic and GIZ as part of the side attractions of the sports festival.

The participating clubs praised Happy Fm for improving upon the standards of the sports festival and suggested more innovative ways making it attractive in the years to come.
