Journalist think the use of "big" words shows their intelligence...why use of edifice?
"...putting the edifice and its offices in total darkness."
Why not just "putting building in darkness" ?

I don't like using big words. I don't, however, think EDIFICE is a big word. Lets focus on the substance or substantive issue. I hope I am not using BIG words.

That is why I put big in quotation marks...meaning supposedly. That is not used in everyday conversational description of buildings.for journalist to effectively communicate they are to write as if their audience are at a 6th ... read full comment
That is why I put big in quotation marks...meaning supposedly. That is not used in everyday conversational description of buildings.for journalist to effectively communicate they are to write as if their audience are at a 6th grade level. I remember when I was in Ghana newspapers and TV pundits arm themselves with such words to sound intelligent. You only write using such words if and when your audience is at a peer level to emphasize meaning at a contextual level. Meaning if he was writing for his fellow journalists as the main audience then that can be sufficient. Hope I made it clearer now.

Why is ghanaweb repeating this report again ? We learned that three months ago. When the sports ministry does not keep regular accountability and spend money unnecessarily that is what you get.

Look at the Nigerian petro minister arrested in UK with $40,000 dollars....really a small amount (wouldn;t buy a house) but maybe that was her pocket money for hair and clothes

Its sure is Accra Stadium Papa Yaw. Look at the flood lights located inside the stands. Don't you go look at games ? Probably it's dumsor so you can't see clearly.
