  Abedi could surprise you in the dying minutes of a game whenever his side is under a point or so, by weaving, dribbling all the defense or using his head to volley the ball into the net, and the whole packed stadium will burst into flames with his name on many mouths.
  
  He can get a winning goal for his team when the going gets tougher.

  yes in terms of skills, yes he may have a point but in terms of team work attitude he will score very low marks. if you ever saw rabah madjier, bellome, kalusha, adolf armah,emmanuel yartey play combining skills & team work, then you will agree with me this debate here isn't neccessary. look in abedi's own words the yellow card he received in senegal 92 was more of improper dressing than desent. i couldn't understand why a player plying his trade in europe will always pull his shirt down, pull his socks down when playing for the blackstars. the referee warned him several times to dress well but kept undressing well with the excuse that it was the nigerian footballers who were pulling out his shirt. aside that anytime an ayew has to come on the scene,the fortune of a superstar has to be truncated. in 1981/82, adolf armah as captain of the blackstars had to be taken off the pitch for abedi to come on and adolf never wore the blackstars jersey again. secondly after libya 82, it was opoku nti who seemed to be holding sway with the number jersey and captain's band but he suffered a long streak of injury. then in 2008 when dede was invited into the blackstars, captain & number 10 jersey wearer, stephen appiah like joke like joke. then john mensah took the captain's band like joke like joke; then michael essien like joke like like joke; then kwadwo asamoah went in for the number 10 jersey, and we all know his struggles; then djan took the band, the lost the mother and we all know what has been happening. then a majid warris emerged as an attacking smear head, then got injured in friendly and jordan replaced him and ever since like joke like joke. now the 2 lads have joined the english premiership and like joke like joke a certain mvp called christian like joke like joke..........................

  Mohammed Polo was better than Abedi. There was nothing like Footballer of the year award when players like Aggrey Fynn, Edward Acquah, Osei Kofi, Ofei Dodoo, Jones Atukwei Fio, Amusah Gbadamoshie, Mama Aquah, Robeth Hammond, Mohammed Polo, George Alhasan, Razark, Opoku Afriyea, Ben Kayode , Klutse, John Eshun, Isaac Eshun, Robert Quarshie, Enoch Koomson,Kuuku Dadzie,Joe Sam were playing. Any of them could have worn more than six times Best African Footballers award then, Tony. More over Ghana very unfortunately could not qualify for any major tournament apart from Kotoko and Hearts playing at the club level. You might have been a baby then. These are players who played well and pulled crowds any where they are .

  I was in college, Archibishop Porter Girls, at Elmina that time when they played that game between Ghana and Ivory Coast in Ziginshore that time, infact it was heart breaking. Abedi couldn't play the finals because he was issued a red card. He sat on the bench. I was then a young lady by then. After the match the Rev. Sisters who were managing the school at that time told us that we Ghanaians are not discipline that was the reason why we lost the match. If Abedi Pele had listened and followed the instructions he would have played the final match that is what Rev. Sis. Jacinta told us.
  Moses was the T.V commentator at that time.

Abedi was impatient and earned a red card which disabled him to finish the game even though he was our hope to win us the game. You (Tony) also unacceptably missed a penalty that could have earned us the trophy.

I would name Reverent Osei Kofi to be thew most talented and greatest footballer of all tima followed by Sunday Ibrahim, the Abudul Razak then Mohammad POLO, Yaw Sam, joe Sam, Nketia Yawson, Opoko Nti, Adolf Armah, Albet Asase, Kofi Badu, Francis Kumi, Papa Arku. Robert Hammond, Douglas Tagoe. Abedi pele is no where near to any of this greats. But he plays his football in a time when most of the besrt footballers has since hanged their boots.

Yes! he did not play in the world cup and he did not play professional football abroad, but I can say that he is the most skillful player Ghana has ever seen. Robert Mensah is right behind him before you can even consider Abedi. (Remember Pele only played in Brazil and yet he is considered the best ever in the world)
