I agree with you as one bad nut can destroy the whole soup. Who knows whether it was a calculated plan for the three Amigos (Essien, KB Mutari ) to destroy our world cup dream. Essien and KB needed a platform to market their faded form but Kwasi Appia did not give them that chance. Mutari has been shown the yellow card twice and was not going to play the next game.
Discipline is always important for team success. Look at Egypt, Zambia and the Nigeria team that won the African cup of nations or Algeria and German team that performed well in the world cup. It was all about discipline, respect, teamwork, motivation and commitment.

Thank you MD. The second point is that this reliance on apology in Ghanaian tradition has outgrown it usefulness. It has become a tool used by those who deem themselves to be the holders of the balance of power as a face-saving exercise. Even if they are wrong they use their power to insist on securing apology, there by subjugating the weak and vulnerable. But in this case GFA took their fight to a person who does not need the GFA. Muntari is powerful in his own rights, he is more richer than any member of the GFA and will never need the GFA.

If you are punishing an individual for his misbehavior, what about those who caused it. They are all still in office. The fact of the matter was:
1. Why did the GFA boss fly his entire family to Brazil for?
2. Why so many GFA officials in BSs camp?
3. What was their role, and why were they paid bonuses for?
4. How come non of them had been prosecuted?
The article you wrote was devoid of the truth. Even Blatter of all people did not carry his family to Brazil at tax payers money. No body asked the GFA boss to refund the money. Why not? What is good for the geese should be good for the gender.

Let GFA invite this Okoampa- Ahoofe man to come and play for the Black Stars. You think writing long essays will win us the Afcon cup. Let GFA exclude our experienced players, and silence onyone who calls for their inclusion. But if we flop, I will hate to read another book of Issiah form of article from you questioning the competence of the new coach. We win cups with good and in-form players. You're talking of character, did the GFA officials behave themselves well? Please leave the respected Rev. Osei Kofi alone. He has been on the field before and knows what it takes to win a cup: definitely not a long essay.

So, what's your definition of character?
Note that conceding to, and having the courage to resist, foolish and corrupt systems are both character traits.
The actions taken by a particular person to display those character traits are another matter.
So, what character trait are you referring to, which go hand in hand with talent?
Conceding to abuse so that you could display your talent in a corrupt and evil system, or fighting/resisting the abuse in the corrupt system so that you can display your talent in a better environment?
As a matter of fact, in reference to the example you gave regarding Smokey Joe and Ali, don't you think you should turn things around?
As I can remember it was Ali who was resisting the authorities in what he considered to be a wrong system, and for that he paid dearly for his resistance.
Now, don't tell me Smokey Joe is more admired than Ali. Everybody knows Muhammad Ali is admired the world over (even by some members in the authorities he opposed) for his resistance and talent he displayed before, during, and after his fight with Smokey Joe.

A piece but it would have been excellent if you hadn't brought the Akan slant. I told Grant not to make the mistake of inviting Essien, Prince or whatever his name is and muntari to the black stars. These a players down the hill. I am a staunch supporter of AC Milan but because players like prince, muntari and essien are playing or once played for the Rasonerri, I do not care much if they lose. Until Milan purges itself with players like essien and muntari I would not continue to support the team as I did during the glorious days of the Ducth Masters or Trio and that is, Ruud Gullit,Rijkaard and Van Basten. Ac Milan, you purged yourself of one, two more to before Milan will return to its glorious days. Even KaKa who was the fulcrum of the team would exhibit such madness

It does take a courage to stand up for a bully. AC-Milan midfielder, Mr. Sulley Muntar might have just done that. Just being an official does not give you the opportunity to talk nonsense to any player. I wonder whether it is the matter of " monkey the work and the bamboo the chop" situation!. I strongly felt Sulley Muntar knew he was right for his action else he would have rendered the needed apology for sake of the country.

Well written. Keep disrespectful players out of the team and even if the Black Stars get knocked out because of the absence of the "Brazil Trio," be it. A lesson would have been sent out that the team is for decent players.

Also, the dr could hav given the Background of the entire management process of the word cup. There could be no smoke without fire. I still support Rev Osei's call.
