The reality of the matter is that Morocco can afford to cancel AFCON because they have strong tourist industry that is supported by European visitors who are mostly coming from Spain. From a monetary standpoint, it is easier for them to alienate Black Africa. The European tourist money is forever and AFCON is just once for them. The EBOLA argument is only a part of the story. Let us be real, if they did not have the tourism revenue they would not cancel. This is why we will likely see Angola or Gabon host because they need the extra revenue. They do not get tourist, the only get outsiders to come who are connected to the oil business. Most African countries would have kept the tournament. With contracts from Super Sport an BeIN TV that money alone plus their staff coming to stay and work in your country for a few weeks is an economic stimulus.

Morocco FA is right to protect their citizens from this deadly virus. Any nation that agrees to host the game increases their probability of importing the virus. I would suggest CAF select Liberia or Senegal to host AFCON 2015. And we would find out how many nations would venture participating.
