The current practice where newly inducted doctors called house officers with no experience whatsoever are left to experiment with (attend to) serious medical cases while residents, specialists and consultants are away must be put to a stop immediately. There must be at least one specialist present 24 hours in three shift rotations to supervise them. Our health system as it is presently is not the best. The situation in the countryside and rural communities is even worse.

THE PROBLEM WITH SOME GHANAIANS IS THAT THEY ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WHEN A BLACK MAN IS COACH OF THE BLACK STARS. THEY ARE PREPARED TO FORGIVE A WHITE COACH FOR ANY MISTAKES COMMITTED BUT WILL COME DOWN HARD ON A GHANAIAN COACH. KWESI APPIAH QUALIFIED THE BLACK STARS FOR THE WOR IN STYLE. THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN.AT THE WORLD CUP THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS AND MANY OTHER GREAT EUROPEAN SOCCER NATIONS DID NOT MAKE IT TO THE SECOND ROUND YET THEIR COACHES HAVE BEEN LEFT IN PEACE TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD. A WHITE SKIN CANNOT ACHIEVE ANYTHING FOR GHANA FOOTBALL. WE SHALL CONTINUE TO TURN IN CIRCLES. NO BLACK WAS FOUND SUITABLE FOR THE SO-CALLED TECHNICAL ADVISOR ROLE. ALMOST 60 YEARS AFTER INDEPENDENCE WE STILL DO NOT HAVE ANY CONFIDENCE IN OURSELVES. HOMEGROWN SOLUTIONS ARE ALWAYS BETTER. WE HAVE TO BE PATIENT WITH OUR COACHES

The players buckled under enormous pressure in Brazil. The pressure intensified just after they lost to the USA. After the Germany game, the mathematics of qualifying to the knock-out stages was stacked against us.
The players feared that they were t likely not going to make to the next stage. That fear precipitated another fear that GFA might not pay them all the fees due them if they did not qualify to move forward. They thought it wise to get their fees before they played their last game - the game with Portugal. This to me was the spark that ignited their fury and the brawl that ensued. I bet if Ghana had beaten USA and drawn with Germany, none of what happened would have happened.

The problem with the Black Stars failure in Brazil, is not Kwesi Appiah!
- The problem is our ENSLAVED MINDS cannot see any good in our own people.
- We have been educated to feel inferior towards all races other than our own.
- We respect other races than our own and for that matter, the players have no respect for Kwesi Appiah.
- We pay foreign coaches more than our own and expect better results?
- We are hospitable towards other races than our own.
- Some of our players and some officials are SELFISH, GREEDY, DISRESPECTFUL and ARROGANT.
- We allowed a bunch of selfish individuals to hold the whole nation to ransom.
- We were even thinking of bringing in Milo (a man who has no respect for GHANA and walks out on us) back into the Black Stars.
- The players earn more than Kwesi Appiah so, have iota of respect for him.
- We claim to have no money but willing to pay a foreigner more than our own and turn round and blame Kwesi Appiah?
- We went to beg players who decided not to play for Black Stars again to come back into the fold. Forgetting that it was the exposure playing for their national team that made them who they are today and earn more than they could ever have imagined.
We, GHANAIANS have ignored all the above ingredients for disaster and are trying to make Kwesi Appiah the scapegoat, by bringing in a man who walked out on us?
If that is not MENTAL ENSLAVEMENT coupled with STUPIDITY, then I wonder, what is............
Osagyefo, where are you? You put the pride of being an African into C.K. Gyamfi and he won us glory in your days. We had Sellas Tetteh and won the under 20 World Cup..........But unfortunately, we still can't see the light!
GOD BLESS GHANA!

I so much agree with this excellent well-thought-of piece of writing. We should always consciously employ the best tried and tested Ghanain coach, not only first and foremost, but also as the laid down principle. In the absence of Appiah, Sellas Tetteh could be considered, on condition that he is well dressed up for matches. Presentation is important for the African pride. However, but to a lesser degree, any excellent coach with an African heritage and a proven imbibed BLACK CONSCIOUSNESS could be considered. Guillit, refused to play for Holland in the world cup because of his county's involvement with the apartheid regime in South Africa and as for Desire, we all know his roots and his support for the Stars. The afore-mentioned two are my examples of future possible candidates who meet my criteria listed. In the meantime, give Appiah some technical back-room support from the criteria of choices made above. It might also help to educate the players with black consciousness programmes when called to camp. Few hours will do the trick. A conscious player will die on the field for Ghana. THERE IS PRIDE IN SEEING A BLACK COACH AT THE HELM OF MANAGEMENT, ESPECIALLY DURING FIFA WORLD-STAGED INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS.

Looks to me a lot of Ghanaians are really dishonest. You people were shitting in your pants when the pairings came out. Why was the group frequently termed "group of death"? How long has Appiah been the head coach? Rookies always make mistakes, though not deadly, but Appiah's have been magnified too much and there should be some good reasons behind it. Why do some people forget the psychological bodies and minds of the players haggling over money with management? After all the money issues beyond the coach, he did well to manage the players on the field. Please, don't crucify him if you won't give him kudoos for some personal reasons you might be haboring.

Thanks bro, this is a brilliant article. I have always said Appiah was a very big mistake, particularly after two encouraging WC appearances with other head coaches. I have always said the guy is out of his league, he does not at all belong in the team as a coach. The Black Stars are a very talented group of individuals and a good coach, and I mean better than average can make the team go places. The fact that Appiah has not been able to take the team further shows and proves my point, the guy is simply less than average as a coach. Most important, whose idea was it that a man who has played amateur soccer all his life should be appointed as a coach of a team of mostly professionals. That is how the poor guy could not gain the respect of most of the players, who have been playing for leading clubs in Europe and under some leading world-class coaches, which Appiah is not. Regarding the Togo match, man that was a close one, and Appiah should know by now that he is being watched. A stupid tactical error or score will be enough to get him out of there. I hate to be in the guy's position, he knows he is being watched and folks are just looking for a credible excuse to kick his but. The poor guy will now be sleeping with one eye open about the team's performance in coming games. I also believe Milo has been strategically placed to be wheeled in should Appiah fuck up the joint. He escaped the noose this time with the Togo result, if he does not come up the winner, it will be firing time for him. I do not envy him in this position. I hope he does understand what is happening around him, the storm that is.

That is how the poor guy could not gain the respect of most of the players, who have been playing for leading clubs in Europe and under some leading world-class coaches, which Appiah is not. again the entire technical team are not up to the task to take blackstars to the next level. maxwell konadu has nothing extraordinary christopher wants us to believe. maxwell wasnot an extraordinary player even in his playing days. can christopher tell us which international tournament did maxwell participated in at the senior level not under 23? did he ever merit a call up into the blackstars? did saban quaye and nasamu yakubu ever meritted a place in the blackstars let alone play in an afcon? the entire technical bench and oti akenteng should resign.

I cannot understand why Christopher Opoku wants to see the back of Kwasi Appiah. He is one of those PHD people who want to see themselves as better than others. Christopher Opoku is just jealous of Kwasi Appiah and I guess he would celebrate wildly the day Kwasi Appiah gets his marching orders. To me Kwasi Appiah has been a success though Ghana has not won anything yet under him but his record is no worse than those coaches who earned a lot more than him. Qualifying for the world cup is no mean feat and the reason the Black Stars failed in Brazil was down to the indiscipline and instability in the team which was not Kwasi Appiah's doing. Get off the back of Kwasi Appiah, Christopher Opoku for you suck!.

Thanks for your candid opinion on leadership qualities of Asamoah Gyan. Frankly speaking he doesn,t command respect even among the fans. For me there should not be monkey de work whilst baboon de chop. I,m sure the monies that the other officials were earning during the world cup sparked the apathy among the players. The officials were enriching themselves more than the players. In future tournaments, the GFA must make sure it publishes the expenses long before the events really take place so as to make the people know what goes on and thus bring confidence among the fans. The officials take more per diem and winning bonuses more than the players ,why should this happen?
