The problem is always incompetent management and corruption that robs the players of their ability to shine. Look at how Ghana played against Germany? Was it not Akwasi Appiah's incompetence and stupidity and the immaturity and selfishness of Jordan Ayew, Ghana could have beaten Germany by at least 3 goals to 1. Look at how Brazil featured against Germany, and do you think the Brazillian team was better than Ghana's team. It was all management competency and nothing else.

Amazing how deceptive people can be. Tony Bafoe cited 2006 and 2010 African performances at the world cup as reasons for Africa to be considered for more slots at subsequent world cup. Unfortunately, those were the years Africa collectively had their worst performances ever, except Tony wants FIFA add slots to Africa riding on the back of what Ghana did single handedly in both tournaments, which I believe would have been cynical of him to think so. If that was his mindset, then why did he exclude 2014 disgraceful performances of Black Stars in Brazil.

Tony should have known better because he seem to be closer to FIFA as an organisation than most people outhere in Africa therefore should have known Ghana got to qualify and played for the first time Germany based on the collective sterling performances of the likes of Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal and Algeria who one time and other are the only countries that defeated the so called World Cup Cathedral nations of Spain, Germany, France and Argentina. Even if a single African country managed to reach the world cup finals, that single achievement would never have rubbed off on the fortunes of the entire continent as to call for additional slots. Europe has the largest numbers of participants based on collective efforts and not by anyone country claiming to standout as the best among the lots.

Times have change and these days African temms are rated above Asia Teams. Thank god we are no more the last. Considering the size of our continent and our recent show-downs it serves the FIFA right if they should hurriedly increase the number of African teams to eight before we bring them to their knees by winning the world cup. I assure you that Africans are getting more confidence and more closer to winning the world cup these days than the years of long ago.

For the simple fact that no African country has ever manage to get to the semi final stage since it's inception.
We must stop deceiving ourselves for i everything going on in this world,we Africans are not making any positive impact.
We ought to reflect seriously on this and try to backup instead of complaining and moaning.
All the rest of the five continents on the globe,we're witnessing progress but can that be said of Africa?Certainly not.
Except maybe in athletics where Ethiopia,Kenya show some little success,all other world tournaments we only participate to make up the numbers so what's the need to increase Africa's slots?
