If the GFA has admitted that AA lacks the needed Technical Competence (which they themselves certainly do not have), then the right thing to do is to replace him with one who is competent.

If you allow AA to continue all our best players will be expelled from the team. Change AA immediately and replace him with a foreign coach. We are tired of these local kokoase coaches.

Why dont we follow international practice? 1. All Teams have Technical Expertise. 2. The Technical expertise is appointed because the coach needs their services.3. After a coach is appointed, he is consulted with his employers to select a technical team to work with. 4. The Technical team is appointed because the coach needs them and he can only appoint and work with people that he trusts and have confidence in. The Coach remains the boss. The Technical team work with and for the boss. 5. Both the Coach and the Technical Team work for their employers (GFA. If the coach fails in his duties, he and the technical team are sacked. If the Coach is not happy with the Technical Team, he sacks the Technical Team or any member of the Technical Team. If the coach cannot work with the Technical Team, he resigns. The fate of the old Technical Team lies in the recommendations of the New Coach. Is this too difficult to apply in Ghana?

Guys, there is a big difference in technical team and Technical Director.
Every team has a vision and long term goals and its the job of the Technical Director to safe guard and stear the team to realize the goals and vision of the team. The GFA will set goals and put together a vision for the future of the Black stars in terms of how they want to play the game and goals they want to achieve. A technical director is then appointed to make this happen.
The technical director the takes this wishes and go hunting for a coach with the profile that fit the goals and vision as laid out by the directors of the GFA and also the material available and in this case the players.
In the real world the Technical Director actually hires the coach and do all the necessary scouting of all the Ghanaian players playing all over the world.
Once a coach is hired the technical director and the coach work together on putting together the technical team that will assist the coach in realizing the vision and goals of the GFA. The selection of the assistance is made by the coach but screened by the technical director and approved by him.
From here on its the job of the Technical director to monitor the coach to make sure that whatever the coach is doing technically is in line with the long term vision of the GFA.

1. Now, you can't hire a technical director on short term basis, that makes no sense because their job is always long term.
2. A technical director can not be under the coach, because then he is not a director but an assistant.

So I guess what we are talking here is a technical consultant who comes in on freelance basis to assist the technical staff. This concept I have never heard of or seen anywhere.

So my question is, where try to invent the wheel?

This is not the time for a td. We saw how some the best coaches in brasil made use of their td's. We saw how Scolari, lowe, van gaal etc used their td's. We all advised aa to get a td(desailly, rijkaard) for brasil and like plavi he ignored our advice. AA has flopped just like plavi and he must be axed,.simple! If aa can qualify ghana to wcup without a td. Why can't he qualify ghana to afcon? What aa needs is help at the tournaments! I personally don't see any reason in maintaining aa going forward. He has failed 2wice and dats enuff. The fa shouldn't have to bring in a td. Let aa find himself a helper if he thinks he needs it. He said he didn't need a td in brasil. Now, here's wants to change his mind? No need bringing in a td for aa to take credit for their hardwork. AA is too.dumb. He will purposely throw away any worthy ideas from desailly out of sheer jealousy for the guy. Especially. When the td is getting paid more money than the coach? Muahahahahaaaaaaa!

The fact, as Coach Kwasi Appiah himself seems to have acknowledged, is that the Black-Stars team lacks moral and tactical discipline; the defence is also very uncoordinated. Even at the height of his coaching prowess at Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho asked that Zidane should be his special advisor, a role the latter still performs in myriad ways for coach Ancelotti. The typical Ghanaian refuses to accept his deficiencies, quit or seek help even when he fully knows he has such problems. So, what the hell is Tony Yeboah talking about?

The technical director that is being employed is not like that because it is a GFA special committee (and not Kwasi Appiah) that has been charged to employ him.
In the example you gave about Mourinho, it was the coach (and not the Real Madrid Administration) that employed Zidane to assist him. So what Tony Yeboah is saying is very very sensible.
Until Kwasi Appiah became Black Stars coach, employing a technical director to assist the coach was never a popular topic. This means we have detected something unsatisfactory about Kwasi Appiah and if this is true, then the honest solution is to replace him.
The other day someone made a comment that Kwasi Appiah needed help because everybody needs help. If this reasoning is true, then the GFA Chairman himself and all who are engaged in football administration or any other endeavour need help. I hope reason will prevail in the long so that if we are satisfied with Kwasi Appiah, we do not encumber him with unnecessary interferences. If we are not satisfied with him, let us replace him. There are many good coaches on the local scene that can handle the Black Stars better than Kwasi Appiah.

So there are all these assistants, yet Michael Essien and co could choose, at liberty, to bring their girlfriends to camp even though there were rules that forbid such a thing? A player could heckle and assault a committee member without any restraint, players could choose not to play unless their allowances were paid, etc? What kind of assistants and coach are these? I don't think these assistants you've mentioned have the requisite expertise, especially in the areas of strategic planning, effective coordination, moral and tactical discipline. I stand to be corrected.

By the way, if a technical director sees through problems and recommends solutions to the coach, it can straighten up previously uncoordinated tactics. Finally, a technical director also offers vital advice that can redress issues related to indiscipline. Therefore, what's your point?

You have defeated your own argument by saying that Mourinho was the one that requested a technical adviser and 'analyst' is right here. If it was Mourinho who requested technical adviser, then let Akwasi Appiah requests or finds his own technical adviser when he deems fit.

What is missing from this debate is, Akwasi Appiah and GFA have refused to accept their mistakes or weakenesses. All that they have done is blaming their failures on those 3 players. After deceiving the gullible people like you and having rewarded the coach with extension of contract, they turn around and say that a technical adviser would be helpful. The question is WHY NOW?

And the answer is what TOny Yeboah is saying. It shows that they don't have any confidence in Akwasi Appiah. And they know that Ghanaians would not forgive them for the second time around. Period.

Just right from when we beat Egypt in Kumasi, I started writing here about the mistakes of AA. Forget about those 3 players. These players have played under better coaches and they knew what was wrong and therefore was not happy with the decisions AA and GFA were making. If anything, they wanted to win. ONLY FOOLS, would believe that our failure was caused by those 3 players.

Akwasi Appiah was the last coach to select his BEST 23 players.

While all the coaches were using their best teams to play the friendly games, Akwasi Appiah did not even know who were his best 23, let alone the best 11.

How could we play a friendly game with Holland and we did not know our best team while Holland was using its best team?

A week to the game, we still did not know who were going to start our first match.

On the first match against USA, a game that must be won at all cost, Akwasi Appiah's strategy was to use the starters to "tire" American players before bringing others to score.

We were losing the game and instead of substituting players like Jordan who was sagging his shorts, Akwasi Appiah waited till the dying minutes before doing that.

All these were simple mistakes a coach should have done. Are we saying that the Technical Adviser would come in and take over and INSTRUCT Akwasi Appiah what to do in every step? If that is going to be his job, why should we retain Akwasi Appiah? That is what 'Analyst' and Tony Yeboah is saying.

Use common sense and logic to debate on issues and stop throwing words around that don't add any meat to the debate.

kwesi appiah cant manage some of the players. kwesi appiah was feeling inferior to handle essien and kevin. he was envious. so he decided to relegate them to the background for them to feel down and kevin questioned him. i used to support kwesi but with his handling of essien and kevin i am sure he isn't up to the task

Akwesi, you surely need a technical advisor who knows most of the technicalities when it comes to football -- We need somebody who is more technically competent than you so that you can learn from that person. I like the idea of maintaining the coach, but dismissing all those so called technical committee officials with nothing to offer. And the coach must have some kind of way of establishing a cordial relationship with his players and stop listening to the official on the committee. Any, what are the players saying with regards to the coach's ability to do his job? Is it something positive or negative? So far and to me, it is only Asamoah Gyan that defends the coach. I like the coach, and I am very proud of how far he, as an indigenous coach took us from the African Cup of Nations to date (World Cup in Brazil). But he must consider his decision of saying he is done with some players he named just of the differences they had. Ghana's economy is bad, and we are trying hard to fix, so should we when it comes to reconciliation among us Dr. Appiah.

Allow the young man to build the self confidence and correct his mistakes and soon he will be like the one we want to bring as Technical Adviser. I dare say that great and famous people like Kofi Annan even made some mistakes and learned from them before acquiring the competence to become a successful UN Secretary General.

When people are not doing what they are paid to do.. they should know by now that they don't have the skills to run the black stars...if they don't then who ever pays them should let them know its time to resign

If you were logical enough, you would have realized I pointed out earlier that typical Ghanaians in lofty positions often don't want to quit, accept they're wrong or ask for constructive advice whenever they mess up. A way of addressing Kwasi Appiah's shortcomings is to let him see them well and address them effectively through, I think, the so-called technical director or whatever name could be tagged to that person. And this person to the best of my belief, ought to be somebody with in-depth knowledge about soccer because he was a great soccer player before. The other alternative is to replace Kwasi Appiah with another coach who has a comprehensive understanding of the strategies, tactics, plans, discipline, among others, necessary and sufficient in soccer. Now, do you understand my point? Stop using words like straw man's argument because I'm a logician and I think I know more logic than you do.
