SECONDLY, OUR QUALIFICATION TO BRASIL WAS BENT ON BEATING ZAMBIA AND EGYPT. THESE 2 TEAMS WERE ON THE FALTERING END. ZAMBIA, THE THEN DEFENDING AFCON CHAMPS HAD BEEN BOUNCED FROM THE GROUP STAGE OF AFCON 13. THE TEAM HAD LOW MORALE AND WE FRUSTRATED THEM WITH NOISE, DUM SOR ETC. IF THE GH FANS IN TORONTO CAN HELP U20 PRINCESS BEAT CANADA AT HOME. HOW MUCH MORE GH PLAYING IN ROWDY KUMASI STADIUM?
THIRLDY, EGYPT HAD NO BUSINESS PLAYING VS GH. THEIR LOCAL LEAGUE WAS IN DISREPUTE AND THERE WERE NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUES ATSTAKE. THE FACT THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO ASSEMBLE A TEAM ALONE WAS STREGTHENING TO THEM. SO BEATING ZAMBIA AND EGYPT IS NOTHING TO GLOAT ABOUT.

You should not make excuses for Zambia and Egypt. They were beaten fair and square by Ghana. The Zambia game and the first leg of the Egypt tie are performances I would take from the Black Stars anyday. If they do that every two games. I will be quite confident. Let us be realistic. Our fist goal is defeat African competition when it really counts. That is what happened and that cannot be taken away from him. In Brazil there were mistakes that can be objectively criticized but I certainly believe that root of the problem was with the GFA.

Ekow,
You have written a sensible and a remarkable article. Kodos to you. Let me add my token that Coach Appiah failed flat to win our first game with the USA. That affirms to me that, Coach Appiah is not up to the task he is assigned to. Any soccer intelligent Coach going into such a must win game will put all his best players and strategy to start; make sure to bang in goals as early as possible and try to defend the goal. And if by the last 20 minutes the going was tough, then the application of German ideology must be applied, "alles oder nichts" meaning all or nothing. Coach Appiah went into that match against USA thinking that USA would be beaten since we beat them twice before, complacency killed his ego. Coach Appiah is below par, even though I will vote for another Ghanaian Coach rather than another European.
Secondly, if the GFA officials continue to maintain the view that Black Stars players are subordinates and disrespect, then we will experience another disaster and disgrace in our senior team's performance again and again in future tournaments. These players are husbands and fathers. May I add that they are millionaires. It is disrespectful to the players for Nyantakyi, his wife and children flown executive while our players flown economy class. In my world the Coach and officials should fly at the same class, lodge at the same hotel and dine at the same table to demonstrate solidarity, equality and win the mutual sense of "we are all in this together" with the team.
People like Ben Kuofi and others who are awkwardly by African typical mentality of "adults" disrespect to "younger" people would forever crash with our players who mostly pry their business in Europe.
As long as GFA continue to rely on players based in Europe and the (GFA) maintain their awkward Ghanaian typical mentality, we haven't seen the last of Black Stars disappointments and failures.

It's surprising the way people are happy and praising this rebellious boy, Sulley Muntari. What was his mission in Brazil? To go and help his fellow players to bring honour to his country in football. That was his mission. Did he succeed? No. It was not his duty to go and complain about the number of officials who followed the team. That should be left to the people to talk about. As much as most of these officials were not needed in Brazil, it was not the duty of Sulley Muntari to complain about them. He was to play good football for the country to win its matches in that group. Period. Good football is not complaining about the number of officials. He is a rebel and should be treated as such. Period.

Mr. Agyaaku,
Since you're an African I'II address your comments with a proverb. "If one does not respect a partner that makes and shares his bed with him at night, he or she should not be surprised when his judgement is called into question in broad day light". First, the last time I checked Mr. Muntari is over 18 yrs old and therefore a full grown adult; secondly, he is a member of the Ghana Black Stars and therefore an ambassador of Ghana; a team and country we all claim to love, so I'm having trouble with you addressing him as a boy, which is an insult to any man including you! And if you claim to love the Black Stars you could at the lest show him the respect he's earned for his devotion, honor and patriotism for the country and the team.

WE MUST TRY OUR BEST TO HELP THE COMING GENERATION AS LONG AS WE ARE CONTINUE TO BE FATHERS. HOW COULD YOU RAISED YOUR HAND AGAINST A MEMBER OF ASSOCIATION; SLAPPING HIM IN THE FACE, AN ASSOCIATION THAT INVITED YOU TO COME AND PLAY FOR YOUR COUNTRY? TO EXPLAIN THIS FURTHER, GFA IS UNDER FIFA AND REPRESENTING FIFA, AND RAISING YOUR HAND AGAINST A MEMBER OF GFA AUTOMATICALLY MEANS SLAPPING FIFA. IF A PLAYER FELT A REFEREE WAS BIAS AGAINST HIM AND SLAPPED A REFEREE ON THE PITCH, TWO THINGS WILL DEFINITELY HAPPEN; ONE THE PLAYER WILL BE RED CARDED AND TWO FIFA WILL PUNISH THAT PLAYER. I DO NOT BUY THE ANALYSIS OF MR. EKOW BAFFOU EBURAY, LET US TRY TO BE OBJECTIVE IN ADDRESSING ISSUES THAT WILL HELP CORRECT A BAD BEHAVIORAL ATTITUDE OF THE PRESENT GENERATION. MR. EKOW BAFFOU EBURAY, YOU SEE MUNTARI IS SHOWING TO THE WHOLE WORLD THAT HE WAS NOT TRAINED WELL. " TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO;AND WHEN HE IS OLD,HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT". I wish I could say more but am sorry for Ghana. Was born and bred in Ghana. Had the opportunity leave the country to better my skills. Looking at the country from the outside, I only see the greed, corrupt, inept, self-centered and undeserved people in high places and authority who make decisions to benifit themselves and not the general good of all the people.
Ghana deserves better. i know a whole generation is lost but I wish the younger and future generations will get it out of it's present situation.

In the court of fowls , the cockroach will not get fair trial. How apt is that piece. Those who attack Muntari are the fowls(corrupt to the bone). I find that most principled Ghanaians(not that many) support Muntari. Te vile and the corrupt hide behind fake diplomacy. The fake diplomacy that makes Ghanaians turn a blind eye to corruption and vile acts. I said earlier if Ghanaians weren't corrupt, Sulley's act will be the spark that ignites the revolution we need in Ghana. But aside from being cowards, most Ghanaians like corruption. Getting paid for doing nothing is what Ghanaians like. Chop Chop is the nature of the Ghanaian. They don't believe in sacrificing to get the work done and then reaping the rewards. Rather they prefer to take before hand and never get the job done right. In the past, if you owned a taxi, the taxi driver does the accounts for one day and the next day he's on you for the money because he has to go to the garage. He colludes with the mechanic to rip you off. This attitude had now spread into the main stream. Such is the attitude of the GFA goons. As you aptly stated ' monkey dey work baboon dey chop'. That is what Ghanaians fail to see or appreciate. Some how they think the nation was doing Muntari/Boateng a favour instead of the other way around. Million dollar players coming to play for an ungrateful nation for pittance. But dont tell the stupid Ghanaman that for he believes he has sacrifice for the team by wearing their jersey(fake), and screaming at the tv. I wish Muntaru never plays for this god forsaken country again. He shoud enjoy his wealth and when his career is over stay abroad.
