Please minister,you all should spare and save this country from such castrofic embarrassment.Don't send anybody to any tournament anywhere in the world just to make up the numbers.
Time and time again we(Ghanaians)flop at tournaments and instead of doing something to change and improve that,it's always excuses upon execuses.
We have been watching smaller countries with little resources than us produce world class athletes achieve great results for their country and do we do,corrupt officials and non achieves continue to disgrace us at the world stage.
From the economy,conditions,standard of living to everything one can think of,nothing is going right in this country,Ghana.
What do we make of ourselves?Can one single person in this country face up to reality?Ghana is falling apart.

Do the country's ministers have any sense of duty at all? Why would we as a country that is economically challenged, send athletes to a competition knowing fully well that, they would underperform? Why don't we put in place policies and plans to ensure that our athletes are well placed to compete for medals before their participation? It's a drain on our finances. Most nations that compete do hold national championships annually with qualifications criteria so that only those who meet the criteria are invited to avoid this wilful dissipation of our scarce resources. Look at our neighbours from East Africa, because they are endowed with long distance and mid-distance runners, they concentrate in nurturing these talents and continue to be richly rewarded. Now our own brothers the Nigerians, are excelling in the sprints that used to be one of our strong areas. What about boxing? Truth be told, swimming and cycling are disciplines we are not endowed with talents, therefore there's no point in wasting money to foster non-existent talents. This minister is dire need of a wake-up call.

It is pathetic that ineptitude has so saturated our government that abject failure on the international scene has become an accepted to norm to the milquetoasts who call themselves leaders. The lame excuse that there were budding stars whose future looks bright if given the right infrastructure if as pathetic as it gets. We are not fossil material, but some of us can easily recollect when Ghana s contingents to international games came out as capellas. Our forte was boxing and track and field. Remember Azumah Nelson, Cobra Kotey, Nana Konadu etc? The list goes on and on. Sector ministers who fail to produce results should be fired on the spot not reassigned to other sectors.

Mr. minister show us your action plan, and stop disturbing our peace. To be satisfied with this disgraceful performance means you don't have any standards to measure yourself. You don't seem to know what you are about. Your target was not to motivate the team to win medals for Ghana, but to calculate your per diem whilst in Glasgow. Shame unto you!
