The very opposite of what is happening to South African Soccer. They are struggling to get the players to go overseas and gain exposure. The era of Mark Fish Augustine Brendon, Rhadebe, Quinton Fortune who played overseas are gone and there are no replaceable substitutes. So they want their players to go overseas and none is good enough for overseas transfers.

We need a sport minister to address these problems but unfortunately we have only a minister for Black Stars and all the other sports departments in the country are left to rot

There is no end in sight of the massive exodus of our players. It wont stop until our leaders do the right things to uplift the nation economically.Training facilities, health and medical care facilities, security concerns, salary and bonus headaches, among others, are the driving factors and until we do better, the players will leave as our local league suffers quality games.

If we produce good footballers and then they move outside of the country then this is a good export commodity which needs to be looked at and develop properly.
It should give us hope to develop the foot ball structures, develop infrastructures (including stadia), properly manage teams, give good contracts to players and pay them well.
This way the game will be more attractive and will improve on attendances at league matches, increase gate proceeds (make sure it is collected and accounted for accurately)and get bigger sponsorships. This is a good market so develop it instead of deriding it.

With good football structures, Ghana can produce quality youth players and sell them to international teams abroad. The more youth talents we have internationally, the greater the likelihood that the Black Stars can field a world-class balanced squad in the very near future.
We should also invest in training world-class youth coaches (e.g. attachment to Patrick Vieira of Manchester City) and adult team coaches as well (instead of only one noisy local champion, Kwesi Appiah).
Local standards will also improve, and soccer at home will be more entertaining.
I completely agree with you that we should prepare the youth with exodus intent such that it's a win for both player and country.

If playing for black stars require one to be seen on TV plying his trade for these big clubs. Then why do we cry about collapse of local league. I bet by now average Ghanaian can mention all players that feature for Chelsea, Man U, Barca etc than the most prolific striker our local league possess. A reason is, our TV stations also fighting for ratings will prefer to air what the people crave for than the principle of home support. I do not blame anyone since Ghanaians are not creative enough to make the league work and more attractive. They will rather spend time on Ashawo

with the poor local league due to mis-funtion of the corrupt GFA what do you expect ? players are even paid less than Amateurs in Europe , who do you think should stay and play in such a mediocre league ?
