It is amazing that Nyantakyi and Elvis Afiyie- Ankrah can arrogantly and without shame try to justify that they went to Brazil with their wife and children. For God's sake they went to Brazil TO WORK FOR GHANA. It was not a holiday trip. How would they feel if they owned a night club or beach resort and the bouncers at these facilities went there with their wives or children when they were supposed to be working. As an event manager we organize many events and even though tempting we don't go with our wives and children. we go there to work. I find their excuse nauseating. THEY SHOULD BOW THEIR HEADS IN SHAME

When things go wrong President Obama rightfully takes responsibility for the actions and inactions of his appointees because he understands the buck stops at his door as the hirer. He then takes steps including asking the person to resign even when there's very little or no evidence of wrongdoing to rectify the anomaly. In the midst of several allegations over financial indiscretions why can't the President ask the Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah to resign even before he sets up a committee of enquiry? His appointees must be held to higher standards of accountability if ghanaians are to trust in his leadership.. Until the President gets up from his high chair to the bottom of the Brazil scandals and initiate punitive measures no one in Ghana and beyond will take him seriously. In the eyes of the ghanaian public he's already seen as tainted with corruption himself . He needs to redeem his sunken image with some firings. Why would his appointees want to mend their erring ways if they're convinced they'll never have to answer for their crimes against the people? The perception of corruption is real and ghanaians are waiting for their president to act decisively without fear or favor. There are so many well qualified ghanaians, home and abroad, who can properly manage the affairs of this nation so why does he continue to surround himself with under achievers and mediocre performers? If Afriyie Ankrah and the other corrupt ministers of state are only going to be reshuffled after several allegations of corruption and other improprieties then the president himself must be reshuffled.
