I regret in helping bring KP Boateng back - Afriyie Ankrah

Former Sports Minster Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah says he regrets playing a role in the return of Kevin Prince Boateng into the Black Stars team.

The Black Stars had a poor campaign at this year’s World Cup after they picked only a point from a possible nine in group G.

Ghana performed creditably at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and repeated the feat in South Africa four years later.

Speaking on the team’s poor campaign in Brazil on Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV, the Ex Sports Minister, who admits that players held the nation to ransom with the appearance fee row in Camp says he has regretted involving himself in the comeback of KP Boateng.

“I tell you what; I have regrets for getting myself involved in his [Kevin Prince Boateng] comeback”.

“It was a horrible experience in Brazil especially with the attitude of the Players”.

Kevin Prince Boateng retired from international football after the 2010 World Cup but was convinced to return to the team ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.
