Essien did what he could do on the field when he was called upon. Whether his performance on the field was great must be determined by the Coach. Essien had his back to the field, what do you want a guy who did his ability on the field and being replace do? You expect him to take notes? I can understand a sub who is waiting a possible call-up must pay attention and watch the on going game.
Stop all your unproductive "know it all " attitudes. It only diminish players high spirit. Some of you people are "too known" And I bet if the Coach business is handed to you to handle, your performance will be near zero approval.

It's good to criticize productively. But I am reading too many unnecessary and distract comments.

Now you may want to learn from me. I believe in work and happiness. I do not work like a communist moron.
Essien had executed his duties as required of him by the Coach. On the bench, he has the right to chat with team mates. He was not in line waiting to return to the field of play. I stand by my attitude that Essien turning his back to the field is no crime. I would expect a player waiting to be called for a game to pay attention. You could be strict to your players. Have you ever played a competitive football in your life? I have. And I do not think Essien should be hanged because he had his back to the field after he finished played his game.
Let me conclude that i think Essien has served his country well. He was a great player. I think Coach Appiah should have called a younger player rather than Essien. I have not seen Essien play 90 minutes game in a long
time. I hope AA knows Essien better. But allow players dedicated for our country some flexibility.

KA and his guys have to keep absolute discipline in camp, everyone should observe a code of conduct. I believe Essien's appointment as the assistant captain brings him some responsibilities. At least, it would not be out of place for him to make some suggestions to the coach after the match. Therefore, to be in that posture in a match of such pedigree was most unfortunate. I hope all of us who wish the Stars well would take the observation in good faith and encourage our professionals to do the right things at the right times. We should remember that it is the little, little foxes that spoil the vine! Kwesi, we are with you; just do well to take control on and off the field.
