I don,t think gov't can continue to take care of everone past and present for representing the dear country. Are you going to look after politicians, soccer players etc. till they die? What about the ordinary Ghanaian who cannot even avail a simple health care. Blame all gov't past and present for turning our Ghana to a failed state. Don't blame Nyantakyi.

A very good point in case, are about persons like; Acquaye MacClean, Abeka Ankrah, Akuerteh Armah and hosts of others, who are seen on the streets looking less than ordinary people. Most of these people make efforts to seek coaching jobs, but their attempts yield them distasteful results.
Lucky are those like Abukari Damba, Simon Addo, Kofi Abbrey, Mohammed Ahmed Polo, Edward Ansah, Opoku Nti and Joe Addo who are able to secure some form of jobs that are better than having nothing.
We think Nigeria is doing wonderful jobs in regards to situations with retired sports personalities.
A legislation needs to be formulated to cater for the old and past sports folks, in Ghana too

This is cheap politics. Every Ghanaian, in one way or the other have served the nation so it is not fair to single out any group to benefit anything for what they did in the past. For example, when our beloved brother Komla Dumor died for instance, the kind of comments people made were so disgusting. to the extent that parliament was even debating on it. Who remembers King Richard Quartey of the VOA fame. That he was always caught in the broadcasting house to make coup announcements, during 1979 till what ever? Let each and every individual learn to plan his/her life so that you don't become a liability unto anyone when you grow old. One particular instance of such behavior by some of us I would add to buttress the lack of planning by some Ghanaians is this. In Ghana Commercial bank Ltd. The employees go on strike, on average, once in every two years demanding for better working conditions. The management and directors resist, and refuse to listen to what the boys are saying. They forget that they would go on retirement some day and their retirement would be based on whatever conditions they have put in place. If I can recollect correctly, for over 15 years these retired management/employees have taken the bank to court for poor retirement conditions. Something they ought to have done decades ago. Do you hear Standard or Barclays retired staff taking the banks to court?? Ghanaians, sit up, and let's do the right thing!!

True, these were the foundation of Ghana soccer including Edward Acquah, Salisu, Aggrey Fynn, Dogo Moro, Baba Yara, I am not sure if Mfum was part of that crop of footballers. I think Gago Moro who was Dogo`s brother was among them at the time. I cannot recollect whether Agyeman Gyewu was their compatriort or he played before them. C.K. Gyamfi used to be the skipper and Osam Dodoo the goal keeper. I can`t seem to remember all of them. I remember during their time Ghana beat Nigeria 7 goals to nil. A Nigerian goal keeper by name Ibiam did a lot to stop Edward Acquah`s shots. If I am correct he vomited blood and was rushed to the hospital but died at the hospital in Nigeria as a result. Ghana used to rule in soccer then.
You have said it all country man.
