It is a good mentality to think of yourself as capable of winning the ultimate. By now, it should be taken as a truism that any football competition Ghana enters, we think of nothing other than the ultimate. Whether it is U17, U20, Olympic games, WC or the African Cup (whether men or women, our only desire is to win it. This mentality, even though unrealistic, is not bad at all. No man (or woman) should feel inferior to another man (or woman) because all of us humans were created equal.
What has even made our ambition to win the WC more unrealistic is the fact that, even for the African Cup which is relatively easier to win, we have not won it for over 32 years now. But that does not make it a crime for us to desire to win the WC in Brazil. After all, but for Suarez's handball and Asamoah Gyan's missed penalty, Ghana would have reached the last 4 in South Africa. So why can't we dream big? My answer is: NO REASON.
