Maintenance is our problem. But as the Minister or the person who is responsible to do that doesn't know book, what do we do. The problem is not maintenance at all, its lack of book knowlege.

At least someone has come out to tell the public that the stadium is in a deplorable state, and urgent repairs need to be carried out. As an ex player, I did visit the stadium on a normal working day, just to view the changes ...

At least someone has come out to tell the public that the stadium is in a deplorable state, and urgent repairs need to be carried out. As an ex player, I did visit the stadium on a normal working day, just to view the changes after 35 years in Europe in 2011. I was really impressed but saddened to see all those cracks and rusted iron stalls holding the concrete work. I sent a letter on my findings to the GFA with a copy to the Minister of Youth and sports on my return to Europe, but have since received a reply. After 3 years the same issue is raised by a concerned citizen. Are the authorities waiting for an incident to happen before they act? I wonder why the authorities fail to maintain structures till in a deteriotative stage before action takes place. It then costs double or even quadruple the normal price, or even people loose their lives. The next disaster to happen in Accra would be the over head pedistrian bridge at KANESHIE MARKET. The bridge is deeply cracked, and the iron rods are rusted to the point of showing out of the concrete structure. God save all who will perish when it happens.

I believe,it's not this ACCRA STADIUM alone,that needs a renovating attention but many structures.
Nobody seems to care about what belongs to the government,
BUT THE GOVERNMENT IS YOU AND I.

Everything is crumbling around the citizenry,but no attention,whatsoever,has been placed on them.
They are waiting for some sort of disaster before they would be alerted to do so.
Our leaders live as if they are being controlled by instinctive characteristics:
Not recognizing what matter to them,the most,to act on,correct,salvage,recycle,at the right time,before something bad happens.
The bible says:
In the time of happiness,success,rejoice,but in the time of dangers,tragedy,consider.
The word consider here,means:
Strategise,reason,take a clue,extract information and act upon them,etc.

Even the FLAGSTAFF SQUARE EDIFICE,WE ARE TOLD,IS ALSO A DANGEROUS PLACE,YET THE PRESIDENT MOUNTS PLATFORM,ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS,FOR ONE CELEBRATION OR THE OTHER,THERE.
We must give the more earnest heed to what is crumbling around us before tragedy strikes.

Pull them down and build a modern and safer structure. The stadia have undergone numerous rehabs and refurbishments. There is a time to stop and say, 'enough of that', build a new one.
