Jordan Ayew continues impressive showing

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew scored and set up the other to inspire relegation-trapped Sochaux to a crucial 2-0 victory over Toulouse in the French top-flight on Saturday night.
With the World Cup looming, Ayew seems to have regained his confidence after scoring for Sochaux in their league match last week.
This shows that he is peaking in time for coach Kwesi Appiah’s naming of his 30-man provisional squad for the tournament in Brazil in June.
It was a victory that has improved Sochaux’s chances of surviving relegation as they have overtaken Valenciennes to go 18th with 30 points, but are still 5 points shy of 17h-placed Evian TG who still have a game in hand.
Sochaux’s triumphant night was brilliantly spear-headed by the Ghana international who scored just on the quarter of an hour mark before setting up Roy Contout to put the game beyond the visitors four minutes after recess.
But before Jordan set up Contout for the second, the French international had been on hand to provide a cross which the on-loan Marseille star converted with a pinpoint header.
Contout’s moment arrived to register his 4th goal of the season, but it was Jordan whose pace and artistry proved too tight for the Toulouse defence to cope with as he weighed in a cross for him to head home.
The goal marks Jordan’s second in two games running as he scored against Bastia last weekend.
