My brief stay here has brought face to face with a growing social problem facing many Ghanaian female single parents.Many young ladies in their early thirties have had to make time for work and single-handedly caring for growing and very demanding kids without support whatsoever.

This stressful situation has left most of them depressed. A lovely lady close by with two lovely kids about five and two has caught my attention. A nurse by profession, the single parent has to call on my host for assistance any time she is for night duties. And the children are a handful.

As soon as they come in we have to switch the Tv to the cartoons' channel, deal with their numerous fights and taunts. The precocious kids will split anything open and tantrums rage when you try to stop them.

At home, the story would be different. Grand parents, aunties and other family members would lend a hand in such matters. But in an individualistic and consume society, such help is completely absent,exposing these hard working single mothers to intolerably high risk of stress.Why are the women alone left to suffer such fate when children are a product of male and female? Is society and I mean a feminist one the reason for the high rate of divorces, or the Ghanaian men here have simply become too irresponsible and insensitive?

A way out would be to send such children back to Ghana to be placed in good schools; and there are quite a number of them to give respite to their overworked mothers. They would then be brought back during vacation. In doing so the benefits are two-fold; the mothers would have ample time for themselves, while the children will imbibe the Ghanaian culture totally absent in their present setting. It's less feminism than stupidity. I also know a man who virtually sacrificed his career to try to make his marriage work. But, for whatever reason, the wife and her parents were determined not only to destroy the marriage, but also the man's career, just so the woman can have custody of their two little kids. Strangely enough, today the woman is going around telling people she's been left alone by the man and has to shoulder responsibilities as a single woman, although the man continues to make contributions towards the kids. Don't believe all that nonsense about single mothers. Ask the women, how they became single mothers, and whether they would allow the men to end their misery by taking the kids. Women cannot eat their cake and have it.

Reality, however, is that some of these ladies, not only in Brazil,

No blackstars player can say he earn $14 million for the blackstars. Every ghanaian is a blackstar player, if we choose somebody to play for us doesnt make him any special to and other who didnt.

Playing football for your country is like ghana selling its oil. The money when oil is sold is not for the workers at the fields but for all Ghanaians.
The blackstar selected players for world cup should know if any one of them dont want to play for ghana with Pride shouldnt be playing for money.
World Cup is not a money making occasion. Its to unite the world in football with fairness. Countries who didnt qualify dont mean they have bad players. World Cup tells us of democracy where playing and selection leads to a winner.
Blackstars players to the world cup should be lucky to be representing a country with where everybody is a footballer, referee and manager.
As ghanaians we are waiting to hear from any stupid player selected to play for ghana at the world cup asking for money.
Its the duty of the country to make sure players and fans are well cared for during the play.
If our players do well ghana gives the team something to say thank you. No player should ask the government for money.
Our blackstars players who earns millions for playing football should be able to share some of their money helping those player who dont have money in the team.
Ghana government is for the blackstar care not Fifa. All money should be paid into government not Fifa. If ghana earn $14 million in 2010 world cup, what is the blackstar players think the earn the money.
Ghanaians shouldnt be mislead by these fools you thinks the national team, Cocoa and Oil belongs to those who produce them. No it does belong to them as far as its sold in ghanaians name. Ghana blackstars, Ghana oil and ghana cocoa board are for Ghanaians not the producer.
Every ghanaian is a blackstar player in waiting. Every ghanaian man/qoman can play footbal for ghana.
Blackstars play for Pride not money. How much will every ghanaian get if we share the $14 given to ghana 2012 world cup. Its not only the footballers the government take care of, but it take care for supports as well.

Why is GFA asking Government for support anyway? Is it not the same GFA that went to court to escape being investigated for financial impropriety on the pretext that they are self-funding and 'independent' or some other sort ...
