EGYPT WOULD COULD HAVE BEATEN GHANA HANDS DOWN IF WE HADN'T BEATEN THEM THAT WHOPPING 6-1 IN KUMASI IN THE FIRST LEG, THANKS TO THE ASANTEHENE'S "JUJU".

The habit of featuring underplayers for friendly matches leading to great tournaments is as illogical as its reasons for it. First the wrong squad for such trial matches usually comes short of victory, tarnishing our image and national record. Each performance counts in FIFA's ratings. What is our position on their grading scale now?
Secondly it does not help the main squad to build familiarity among themselves as a team coming from overseas teams structured to suit their style of play and teamanship.

It is good to offer the young players chance but at crucial levels like this tightness of our resolve to win must not be loosen as compromise to training future players. When our reputation is on the line it is Kevin, Essiem, Gyan, Dede, Sulley and Kojo, Afful, Warri we look for with hope.
