See the USA 2- Spain 0 at the Confederation Cup in 2009. If you have an above average team, you just need one or two good performances to make it through. Let us be honest, Spain won in 2010 but they really did not play well in the tournament at all. Switzerland beat them at the group stage, Honduras gave them a run and Chile simply did not try against them because they were already qualified. If Chile needed that last game to qualify, Spain could have been eliminated. Let us not get too caught up in the European standard.

We also tend to seek heavenly help to help us win or succeed in all endeavours. Success is all about adequate preparations and building capacities. Prayer alone and wishful thinking does not do the trick. My question is, have we ever given a critical thought or diagnosed the cause of our loss to Uruguay. One simple cause is the fact that we are very weak at taking spot kicks. Have we rectified that. Europeans don't take things for granted. Every problem , issue is taking seriously and see to it that it is done right. The reason for their successes. Our adhoc approach to issues and problems is our bane and will continue to be for a very long time till our mind-sets and attitudes change for the better

It is good Biyik critiqued his flawed contention. It doesn't make any sense. If he is so satisfied then that the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon is more qualified with a higher pedigree than the remaining African teams, he MUST wait for them to also prove it in their group games in Brasil. Let Cameroon walk over their opponents without any struggle since they have "super players". "Unpredictability" defeats the argument of "Impossibility".

Ghanaians open their mouths wide to insult before they think through topics of discussions. Insults is a sub culture in Ghana os they insult their Presidents 24 hours a day, meanwhile they are timid and coward set of people. It'll take visitors to Ghana just few hours listening to their radios to note how foolish and stupid Ghanaians are. Ghanaians have taken free speech to the extreme so they insult anybody and everybody they disagree with, they think insult is an acceptable norm elsewhere. Oman Biyik is simply saying the obvious, Black Stars don't have the quality to reach the semi finals of the world cup and that's a hard fact Ghanaians must accept.

The Black Stars have struggled in the last four years even against minnow African opponents like Cape Verde, Burkina Faso, Zambia, Mali and DR Congo. How suddenly Black Stars sees itself a renaissance side that can reach the semi finals,? World cup past performances are not transient therefore Ghana should refrain from making references to South African world cup stale and dead quarter final exploit. If it were so Ghana shouldn't have remained trophyless for 35 years and still counting, not even after pkaying two AFCON tournaments and still struggled to make an AFCON semi finals. Stop the insults of Oman Biyik and face reality of your current dipped form. Ghana's immediate concern is how to qualify from the group that comprise some of the best side in the world. Despite beating USA on two occations Ghana still remain the weakest of group 'G' teams.

Who ever thought any African country could store a goal against any European country judging by the different resources available to the nations? How could countries whose players earn peanuts as ages compete with those who are dashing out a million pounds each month to individual players? That is never a fair competition. But Ghana and the other African countries who played in world cup tournaments before them proved that football is no respecter of millionaires. Whether it be Ghana or any other African country, one of our teams will one day win the World Cup. African countries have won the Under 17 and Under 20 World Cups before, and they played against plush European Teams, and I supposed they managed to beat the European teams before reaching the semi-finals and eventually the finals and won it. Aboa Konkontima no ara no onyini beryer aponkyererne.
Kwasi, just ignore the doom sayers. I think it is difficult for some of them to take it in that Ghana does so well at the world cup. So what they can do is say things that will sap our confidence. Whether we win one match or non, it is still an achievement for Ghana to come from nowhere to compete in three consecutive world cups. Ghanaians as we are, we always strive to improve on our previous performance. So if we have ever reached the quarters, then of course our next target is the semis. And who thinks that is a bad goal we have set ourselves? Even if we do not do it this year, we will do it at another time?

Remember the penalties when Cameroon lost the game to England? Remember Nigeria versus Italy and the late penalties. Even with a good team, there are obstacles to conquer on the way to the cup.This has nothing to do with the European level of play. I dont really think that the Europeans can play cohesively as a team better than the Black Stars.

Remember WC 2014 the European teams France, England, Portugal played poorly as a team compared to the famous Black Stars.

This time around, the Black Stars have Essien, Muntari, Prince Boateng, Kwadwo Asamoah, Warris, Archie Frank, Warris, Baby Jet Gyan, Atsu, and other super-talented players who have acquired lots of experience playing in Europe. We are not scared of the Europeans .
